Breakdown.

I wanted to do a breakdown on prom but well...I kinda freaked out (in a good way when I saw this.) Babes, take care when you watch kay?

Hot right?

Prom was a night of ups and downs - mostly up.

Before prom, I woke up early (and I didn't even manage to sleep until 3 in the morning - oh you stupid bioclock, can't you function like others do?!), booked an appointment with my hairdresser and then tried to repair my stupid camera. It died 15 minutes upon reaching school anyways, just as I was about to take photos so yes, I have to depend on others for pictures. Which kinda sucks but meh.) After I got dressed, waited for Chuen Yong and we went off to Dian's place to meet the others who agreed to the taxi share scheme. (Of course, me being the goon that I am, I totally owe Dian moolah now. *smacks head*).

When we arrived at the convention centre, there were a great number of people mulling around. Lousy reception, Daniel said. I couldn't ahve said it better myself. I mean, why couldn't you play some elevator music or at the VERY least give each of us maybe a small cup of water or something? Sheesh.

AND the committee deserves to be smacked hard on their arses and be sent packing. I mean wtf, they misspelled tons of people's names wrongly - even mine. T.T Although it's more of my father's name, I was still bloody pissed because I already corrected the idiot when I paid! And STILL they had it down wrongly. Seriously, would it kill you to even check? Thank god the event was not the kind where you have to wear your namecard and shit like that.

I didn't really like the arrangement of the tables though but hey, HLMers rock because we had 3 tables to ourselves - could have been four though. The interiorscape was freakingtastic awesome so kudos to the HLMers who did the job! Loy deserves special mention for putting in the final touches to the extent I heard he didn't even have enough time to prepare for prom proper. (Considering I spent some 3 hours to get ready...I guess that says it all.)

The night truly belonged to the HLMers. Why? Because without us, trust me, the D&D would have sucked big time. I'll elaborate a little bit later.

Firstly, is it just me or did I miss the lecture on how speaking in a psedo-American accent makes one a better MC? Good lord, every time the boy spoke, I wanted to go up on stage and punch him in the face. Dude, couldn't you speak like one would usually speak? And what's with the retarded half-Joker make-up?

So the food's been receiving a lot of negative criticism with many complaining that it sucked but I actually disagreed. I thought it was decent, considering we paid $35 bucks. The saving grace I thought was the crayfish. My table became like a zhi char table - we had every single dish on our table. XD And a whole bowl of papaya salad (that nobody touched in the end). Also, if it was a buffet as they promised, they should have at LEAST given us at least a second serving. Only one lousy serving so once the dish was over, it's over. I wanted bread but they ran out of bread. BREAD!!! Sheesh.

I personally think the MCs could have handled everything better.

First, they completely darkened the room just so they could shine the spotlight on some band called 3some. (Kinky much? All I was thinking was ShiHanChul. Not that the guys were good-looking or anything but hello, if I could have a band called 3some, I'd have those 3 boys on stage so that Heechul can have sex on stage with his two consorts.) Alright...disturbing imageries aside, the band was actually okay, if I closed my eyes and pretend I DID NOT see one of the band members in SHORTS. Utter disrespect to the dress code much? I mean, sure they didn't exactly specify for formalwear but come on, it's a BALL. Who the fuck goes to a ball in pants? What's next? Suspenders and boxers?

And then before we managed to chow down our food, we were forced to play table games. We won the first table game - it was weird that only one other group bothered to play - no mad scramble like the last teacher's day dinner. I think it was because we bothered? The other tables just continued to eat. Anywhos, we received a swiss army knife from Caesars for our efforts. Special thanks to Huixian for lending us the mask!

I'm just wondering who's that oh-so-intelligent-even-MENSA-bows-before-him lights technician. Sure, the band can play whatever they want but bloody hell, I ALMOST fucking tripped while carrying a cuppa because this...genius turned off ALL the lights instead of gradually dimming the lights. And the lights remained off for a good part of the night. Thank god for cell phones with lights and torches.

And when we WANTED the lights to be turned off later for the dance floor, they said they were unable to do so. *rolls eyes*

I couldn't really care less about the entertainment but bloody hell, of ALL songs, Vitamin's C song?! T.T Couldn't you have played oh i don't know...some other song instead?

The selection of prom King and Queen left much to be desired. Yay for HLMers making up half of the nominees! When it whittled down, our top three contenders for Queen were ALL HLMers and BOTH our male contenders got through to the next stage. HOWEVER, how freaking retarded is it that they made them play oh-ya-pey-ya-som to decide the final two? AND later scissors paper stone. -.-'''

Aish, when Loy got booted off, there was an uproar - considering the other contender, this supposedly famous LSCT guy (if he's so famous, tell me, why have I NOT heard anything from him in my whole three years?) barely got support from his own coursemates? Thankfully, Jon and Alisa won prom king and queen. Of course, it was made possible by screaming and yelling as loud as possible. I don't mean to be a braggart but dude, I'm a bloody loudhailer. At the Kpop Concert last year, I had the whole balcony section looking at me because I was screaming for VOS - I'm supposedly loud enough to rival ten people so meh. Of course, HLMers are gregarious individuals and amongst us, there are at LEAST 4 loud people so it doesn't take a genius to figure out we were gonna sweep the prize away! *cackles*

But I seriously thought the two deserved it. :)

As I've mentioned earlier, without HLMers, the prom would have died because when they said to clear the room to dance, half of the room actually left the room to go elsewhere. And it turns out I can actually dance to something other than Korean songs! XD Or at least...attempt to - the few pictures on Facebook can do the talking. Afterall, a picture says a thousand word. I've got 3. More than enough for a thesis, I should hope.

Afterwards, when we actually cleared the hall, I heard to my utmost delight...NOBODY! 8D

I flailed and just danced my heart out . Of course, I didn't care if I had an audience or not (by then, it was 11 plus and there were less than 30 people stuck in the hall due to the horrendous downpour).

After some discussion, we agreed to go to Jalan Kayu for supper. Didn't finish my egg prata but I downed a cup of teh tarik and ice litchi. And YET I was still thirsty.

We talked and made some plans for next week and then we headed home. A HUGE 'WOW' THANK YOU  SHOUTOUT to:

Victor for driving Soohoon, Weiping, Alisa and Greg home even though they lived on the other side of the island and he lives on the opposite end.

And my savior Poh Chuan for being a freaking fantastic driver and for sending me home. <3

I'll miss my HLM mates.

Thank goodness we're meeting next week for cycling. :)

And thank you to you (yes, you) for actually reading through all the junk I just wrote.
