Gothcoming 2k8 was incredible. I don't think I've ever see the place that crowded.
Our official door count for paying customers was 638. My staff alone was 64 people.
The BoMA staff got a little freaked out when people started lining up outside at 8:30.
After 12:30 AM when we had crowned the King and Queen and awarded the prizes, we stopped charging at the door and the door guys counted an additional 64 people.
That's a total of 766 people (not counting BoMA staff.
I still fell way short of my goal of 1500 people, but hey, there is always next year, right? We did manage to raise $3,556 for the Autism Society of Ohio.
My only real burp of the night was someone managed to steal the iPod touch out of the room it was being kept in, but I'm in touch with the winner and I'm buying her another one this week.
I now have to get the photos organized from my six photographers, and Chas Ray Krider, get the finished purchased images to print, but that's all pretty easy. There should be galleries up on the website by the end of this week.
There is a reason I only do this once or twice a year.
I'm thinking about holding an AIDs benefit at BoMA in the spring. It would be another Goth Event. Right now, the concept is a Vampire Ball.
I already have a couple of Chas' photos up in my MySpace Gallery. I'll be putting all of Chas' photos up here at first.
Thanks to Lisa and Geoff for letting me tag along last night. It was a lot of fun. If I hadn't gone out, I would have stayed home and worked. I think it's time to get to my regular job now.
