Session 11 - Power Struggle
On our way to that area a crow-shaped human called a Kenku, also one of the races the demons had in their service, arrived to deliver a message for us from the Black Talons or as they were formerly known, the White Talons. After the fall of the demons and their subsequent ejection from our plane the remaining powerful players all struggled for power and managed to carve a piece of the landscape out for themselves. The area we're in now is under the control of Dreadwing, an obese black dragon lazy from years of gorging himself on the tribute of the villages under his control. The White Talons were a group trying to fight for peace, justice, etc etc. Once they realized they could not beat Dread Wing they resigned themself to working for him in an attempt to keep everyone else safe. So, seeing as we're an unknown element in this land we have no political affiliation and the Talons were interested in joining forces with us covertly to bring down not only Dread Wing but the other lords. Once the Kenku was finished with his tale he parted ways and we arrived at the cave we were supposed to.
Dread Wing indeed proved to be a prideful and incredibly lazy creature. It was almost too easy to manipulate him into our desired goals...for the time being we will act as if in his service, while taking out the other lords for him as a show of faith while looking for the Apocrypha ourselves. Whether we gather allies or enemies in the other lands we do not know but it is our best plan so far. After proving our strength by defeating a monstrous dragon-headed spider with a draconic man riding atop it in a nearby village Dread Wing gave us his blessing to work for him, our horses and Ghost Captain back, and we let him hold onto our picnic basket of eternal yumminess. For now.
The Talons will be coming with us as support as well as to 'keep an eye on us' for Dread Wing. Our first target is the Fire Giant and his domain...and so we head out.
Short Term Goal: Defeat the Fire Giant lord
Long Term Goal: Defeat the other lords, hopefully gaining allies in the process.
