Summary: He removes his hands, takes three steps back, and runs away.
One day, Jaejoong wakes up unable to hear again.
It catches him by surprise-he’s grown used to being able to hear. When he wakes, prepared to hear the typical sound of out of tune humming, all he hears are sweet sounds that aren’t at all wrong.
It scares him, frightens him so much he goes to the keyboard to plink out a scale (C major) and almost sighs in relief when he can hear each and every note.
He plays the scale again, closes his eyes, and drops his fingers onto a note. He listens, tires to place the sound, and comes with a blank. He removes his hands, takes three steps back, and runs away.
They have a recording session the day he wakes unable to hear. They sing in the van, but he feigns a slightly sore throat to cover for the fact that the notes are all wrong (but he can’t hear that they are). The others worry, worry, and worry more, but he smiles and assures them it’s just temporary (it is, he’s scared it isn’t, but it has to be).
One day, Jaejoong wakes up able to hear again. He smiles, sings, and lives.
