Haha, no, don't feel that way; I should have picked up that typo on one of my many read-throughs; 's my fault. ^^ Thank you for pointing it out.

You'll probably have to wait a while, though as I am no longer on semi-hiatus, fics should come out relatively quickly.

Hrm, I don't know any dbsk related poetry, but that's because I actually have this very strange love-hate relationship with poetry which keeps me from going out and finding any. My favorite writing quote probably has to be Orson Scott Card's "Tell the story simply and plainly." I try, especially because nothing annoys me more than losing the substance in the frills of the story.

alkdsjf, I love chess! I play it all the time with my friends despite my failures (used to be chess club president XD). I'm so tempted to write JaeChun chess fic, (especially after looking at scans of the photobooks), but I've promised fic for my friend, so that means less personal writing and more prompt fulfilling XD.

I love internal struggles, especially when the focus is not romance (I have a loathing for overdone cliches). This 'verse is really letting me play around with internal struggles, which makes me happy ^^

Haha, said friend is also the one who introduced me to dbsk, so it is wonderful that I have her. If it weren't for her, none of this fic would exist, especially since she would follow up every statement I made with one dbsk related (which is pretty astonishing, really).

All my long fics have so many plot holes they aren't funny. This is why I take advantage of my friend XD

Well, not so much one fic, but one 'verse, so after I finish I'll link it all together so that it's more obvious that they're interconnected... I would do so now, except I'm lazy.

I really loved my English classes, though I detested one of my teachers since he assumed all of us knew everything he was talking about. My other teacher was much nicer, I learned everything I know now about anaphora and alliteration and why using them in writing is good, haha.

long comments are ♥ And I don't mind the OT-ness all that much, I rarely have the opportunity to chat with other dbsk fans online

I see. I'm not totally in love with poetry, but I still check them out. For instance, I like Erica Jong's poetry.
That quote is nice. It's true. And there's another one I like, "Show not tell." I don't know whether I heard it in a writing or film class ^^;

Oh cool~ I like chess even though I don't understand & play it. lol. This is the first Soulmate chess game photo I've seen. I don't know where it came from. My guess is HIJ Vol. 3. But I am probably mistaken. ^^; I'm glad there was another one in the A Week Holiday photobook.

It's cool that you do. At least there's one writer in the DBSK fandom who explores such 'verse. ^^ I'm not into fluffy/romance novels that much. But it depends on the writer. There are those who are able to write romance well, i.e. I don't cringe and think of my diary entries when I was still in HS. haha.

Oh I see. I think it's quite apparent to anyone who has read all three fics that they're somehow connected. I remember in one fic (Anodyne), Jaejoong would use hot water while he's washing the dishes and there was a mention of that here.

English classes are almost always my favorites. The teachers...not so much XD There are good ones, but in general, they have a sort of arrogant air about them. I feel bad about it. No wonder some people are discouraged to read books & discuss them. I mean, not everyone can immediately grasp the underlying themes in novels or know the creative way of writing something. In one of my writing classes, the teacher had a preference for creative non-fiction ("because people end up writing about themselves anyway"). It was rather...embarrassing, because everyone knew that everything's real. Everyone is required to read the works of others, since the teacher adopted the workshop method. I dunno, I still like people to treat my writings as fiction even if they're based on RL.

Well, for me, all my interaction with fellow fans are online. No one in RL to fangirl with D: Hence, the tendency for long comments. ^^;;

Ahh, I see. Well, my experience with poetry (especially online) is that it tends to be overly sentimental and makes me feel vaguely disgusted at fandom in general, so I avoid it when it comes to fandom poetry. Now poetry not written by fans for fandom tends to be more interesting.

I try to live by "show don't tell" especially when I'm doing longer fics. For shorter one-shots I rely more on telling because there's information that I have to cram into a smaller space. I live perpetually in a desperate attempt to find balance between my summary and exposition XD.

Chess is relatively simple to grasp the basics of, it's actually playing it against people that's tricky. I like to think I'm getting better, but I'm still rather bad at it--I'm horrible at reading other people's moves haha. And the lighting for the picture is horrible, but it looks like they've just started (clearly should stop attempting to figure out who the hell is the better player).

I'm glad that this 'verse is being received well. I actually have a rather cynical view of love, which makes it harder for me to write romance fics without turning them sarcastic, but I do love reading them, especially the well written ones. Sadly, most have the same plot, angst too much, and are written more like bad vampire stories than romance fics.

I try to connect them; probably the least connected is Changmin's fic, because that really was intended as a stand-alone fic. I'm glad it's in this 'verse though, because it's a rather pivotal point (in my mental timeline) and really the reason why this fic even exists. I'm glad you caught that reference, haha ^^ I was wondering if anybody would notice.

Nothing annoys me more than teachers who act as though the students should know everything, but I've had a lot of those... not only in English, but in the Sciences and Music as well. And actually, the vast majority of my fics draw from real life--usually situations I've observed or I channel personal feelings into the work, though I write them as fiction simply because otherwise fics turn into emo rants about the evils of mankind, haha. And my friend reads it over and makes sure I stay clear from ranting territory.

I see! Well, I suppose I'm lucky, since some of my friends like have heard of dbsk. However, most of them prefer JE bands which makes it a little trickier, but still interesting

Well, I'm feeling adventurous now. I didn't read DBSK fanfics before. I think because the first fic I read scarred me. lmao. I'm glad I can no longer remember what it was about. So I figured maybe it wouldn't hurt to read poetry. lmao.

Ah~ I've been told you get better in chess the more you play with people. Lighting was bad, mainly because the only light source was the lamp beside Jaejoong. It's the only one I've found.

I have yet to read a DBSK AU fic where they're vampires. Must be interesting especially if it's crack.

Ah~ I see. Well Jaejoong is that fic is memorable. and that image of him washing the dishes with hot water is something I always remember. Mainly because I'm the one in charge of the dishes during weekdays. Well, we don't have hot water, but I still remember it.

though I write them as fiction simply because otherwise fics turn into emo rants about the evils of mankind, haha.
lol. yeah. Which is why I was disappointed when the teacher said 'creative non-fiction' would be the focus of all our works. Discussions were uncomfortable. I don't think the rl incidents are anyone's business. But maybe they're thinking it's related to the writing. *shrugs*

My sister is a huge Arashi fan. I came from the jrock fandom so a few of my RL friends are into jrock. The others think it's weird to listen to songs whose lyrics you can't understand. :(

Haha, from my vast experience in fanfiction (many years in anime fandoms), poetry is to be avoided. Though I haven't seen much dbsk poetry yet. * shrugs *

Yeah, the more you play against people, the better you get. Studying openings and whatnot helps too. Yeah, the lighting's pretty horrendous, though it does look very pretty XD. I'm not the artist, haha, but I'm sure my friend would be discussing lighting with me if she saw that picture. She does it for posters, it's hilarious.

I assure you, there are many DBSK AU fics where they are vampires. They're also... not very good typically

I'm glad that Jaejoong is memorable in that fic; I think of it actually as one of my better fics, so I'm glad that the image stayed with you! It means I did something correctly, haha. It was tricky trying to find tamer images to relate to the more... intense actions... if that even makes any sense, haha.

If it's weird to listen to songs whose lyrics you can't understand, then I'm weird no matter what language the song I listen to is in... I can't even understand songs with English lyrics unless I go look the lyrics up, it always makes me feel really incompetent.

Ah~ I see. I haven't read much anime fanfics. I just got into fanfics when I got into Harry Potter lmao.

Is your friend into photography? Maybe if the photo was more HQ, it would have been better. Cause I kinda like it. You can see Yoochun, but Jaejoong is in the shadows somehow. And the light source is beside Jaejoong. Just lovely. Idk.

D: I would have loved vampire fics. Even a parody of Anne Rice, as much as I adore her vampire novels, would have been nice.

It was tricky trying to find tamer images to relate to the more... intense actions... if that even makes any sense, haha.
I understand. ^^

Well, with some singers...how do I say it, the words are not so understandable. But I find listening to English songs...an educational experience. haha. Listening to songs in other languages (other than the ones I understand) made me appreciate the other song elements - the instruments, the way the singer sang, etc. - because I wasn't too focused on the words. If that makes any sense.

My friend is an artist in general, majoring in design at an art school and everything. She's does a mixture of all sorts of stuff, pencil-paper sketches, watercolor, clay sculpture, photography, etc., though she doesn't do much photography. I love the photo, it's beautiful and all, but the lighting makes it really hard for me to study their chess game, because I like attempting to stay close to canon when I write fic (unless it's all out AU, in which I screw around quite happily).

vampire fics in dbsk fandom scare me. Though I kinda wrote a parody of vampire/werewolf fic and stuff. I don't think that a vampire fan would like it though

I kinda understand; for the vast majority of my life I listened only to music that either had no words (I'm a classical music geek), or were in languages I couldn't understand (mostly Jpop). When you don't understand the words, it's really the emotions in the voice and the way the song is put together that really catches at your heart

Interesting. Your friend is truly an artist.
The chess game photo in A Week Holiday will probably be more helpful for you. ^^

That was an interesting conversation. Probably the longest one I've had with a fanfic writer. lmao. Thanks! ^^

Yup. She's brilliant. (I love my artist friends; they draw me art kehehe).
Yeah, especially since the chess game photo in AWH is further along in the game as well, more around mid-game. This photo's more near the beginning of the game. (though the one in AWH that I saw makes me question Chun's ability.).

Mm; it was ^^
