So as usual I'm posting because I've found my first breath of air in ... well, over a month=)
Half the time my life is actually fairly boring, the other half of the time ...well
.>'> So aside from my birthday, which kind of came and went definately unnoticed, but I wish the day itself would have gone a little better without things like work and family Drama
Other highlights though were, Washington DC!!
So, for my birthday my Rick, My step dad took me to D.C. Mostly for sightseeing and stuff, but also because History is my major and D.C. Does happen to be one of the most historical places in america (aside from boston pennsylvania, North Carolina, etc etc etc) , I'm hoping I can get to boston sometime soon that would be kewl. Anyhoo Here is Rick in a very metrosexual moment with my mom on our way out from the airport, people leaving does wierd things to them ya know ?=P
So obviously we did a lot of fun stuff, We hit the
National Spy Museum,
The NAtural History Museum,
National Museum of African Art,
national museum of the American Indian,
The NAtional Postal Museum (One of my Favorites),
National Air and Space Museum (Quite possibly my favorite),
Museum of American History (really cool "star spangled banner exhibit",)
The Smithsonian castle (which is just a really cool piece of history),Oh we ran though the
RenWick Gallery and the Picture above comes from the newly renovated
National Portrait museumWhich I enjoyed far more than I thought I would. I was not sure what to expect but some of the things in there were just soo beautiful. This was my attempt at an artistic shot in the artistic building =P, but Sadly Me (the dumbass) broke the screen on my really cool camera before the trip, I can still use the viewfinder and take pictures but I just can't review them or use any other feature on my camera ='(. never the less my pictures did not turn out too bad =)
So I believe friday we went out to Arlinton Cemetary to visit Ricks Father, Who is proudly burried among the figured such as JFK, Teddy Roosevet as well as countless Civil War generals from both sides. Some of the sites there were amazing JFK's Tomb had a beautiful view and display but was very slippery, That's right we were walking around Arlington in a Hurricane! You know despite us getting very Wet, we had a good time. we were out there for about an hour and a half and the result of which you see up above. After an hour in Arlington we spent almost an hour drying off in the Smithsonian Castle. it was definately an experience I wont soon forget =)
And now for a montoge of Gabe with "The sights"
Here is gabe in front of Capitol hill. I would have loved to Go inside, but it takes a an appointment of about a month an a half. but none the less I saw it =)
Here is a quick Silly shot in front of the Old DC Post office.
I freakin love all the old buildings and Architechture I mean you just don't see that kind of stuff here on the west coast, and if you do it's synthetic facade and not that old at all
possibly one of my favorite pictures. We just kinda found these girls on the backside of the white house and asked if we could take pictures with them. As the story goes according to my pops I went "Alone" and just met friends down there who showed me around, these are a couple of my friends ;D. They were very cute and very nice=)(no not that nice yes yes all of "Those" jokes would be entered right here) Anyhoo once again I was not able to actually go in due to a lack of planning for that. but the outside was eaqually as amusing. There was a peace vigial which had been there and been manned since about 1973 (the lady seems to have been there that long also PU and SCARY feet she had sandles on, Damn hippies =P) There was also the guy who had "protest Bush in over 70 languages" He had tons of construction paper with all kinds of different slogans in all kinds of languages it was awsome =)
Anyhoo we hit other places like george town and the Lincoln memorial, and IT was just Amazing I can probably go again and see a whole new set of things. it was amazing =)
In other news, I got promoted at work, which is another reason I am so scarce now adays but tuesdays are usually a good dayfor me to do stuff. Anyhoo I really want to Ride but my weekends are sucked dry by work, but if anyone else has been itching for a ride lemmi know so I can hopefully tag along. I still have yet to finish the ride up the 1 and there is always another way up the San berdo mountains! =D
