They seem to come from our memories, and a certain word will be lost from the memories of people who share a world with the person responsible for the event.

Is the loss of the word permanent? Before today, I was not aware of the residents losing a word from their memories...

Also, a number of others have told me of their abilities being altered during the event.

Yes, mine were increased to an extent I did not expect, and had some difficulty controlling.
