Entry 9: Communication [voice]

[Once again, Wesker finds himself wondering about the events and just what the reason is behind them. He's also quite puzzled as to whom this last event belonged to since he has no recollection of a school called "Namimori". Like always, he's being his usual investigative self and is going to call on the residents for answers.]I am curious about ( Read more... )

I admit, I'm curious about that as well. It was quite strange.

I recently learned that the event belonged to someone from Gokudera's world, a student who attends the school we were all attending. Who, I'm not sure.

Also, I must agree that it was strange, Mitsuru. Did you experience any physical changes during the event?

I see. What a strange event for us to relive. I wonder what word he lost.

Yes, I did. I was slightly younger and my abilities were unstable.

I was not aware that the resident with the memory of the event would lose a word. Interesting to know...

Mmm I see. I only ask since another resident also mentioned their abilities had been altered during the event. [He chuckles.] My speed and strength were heightened to new levels, and I must admit that I was quite...clumsy.

At least that's what I've been told about this place.

In a way it's good to know it simply wasn't an isolated incident. My Persona's abilities were much stronger than usual, which left me without the degree of control I'm used to.

So it seems that the abilities of individuals were only heightened and not weakened.

Persona? I cannot say that I have heard of such a power...

So far that appears to be the case, I have not heard of anyone like that though.

That's not surprising, it's seems to be something unique to my world.

Well I do appreciate the insight concerning the event and the abilities, Mitsuru. Even though I have been in Wonderland for almost eight weeks, I still find myself confused regarding certain aspects.

Also, your world does not seem to be the only one where special abilities are not uncommon.

I can only imagine, everything here seems so foreign.

No, it does not appear to be the case. Though it does seem that abilities variety in how they work and their origins.

Also, do not hesitate if you have any questions about Wonderland. It is the least I could do for all of the information you have shared.

Indeed, you are right. Only abilities brought on by biological and chemical means exist in my world.

[Wesker now had his mind on one thing at this point in time...with his research picking back up, he would need speci- assistants within the next few months...]

Thank you, Wesker-san. I appreciate the offer, for now I think I'm out of questions that could possibly have answers.

What sorts of abilities are you speaking of?

With the use of such agents, a number have transformed and mutated into grotesque creatures, sometimes with enhanced strength, speed, and regenerative abilities. [Himself being one, of course.]

However, it is more by accident and cruel intentions that such creatures and mutations have come about. Biological warfare is at its peak in my dimension, companies and organizations competing to have the most destructive viruses and parasites.

It sounds as though your world has made large advancements in the scientific field. Were these transformed volunteers or taken unwillingly? [She pauses, contemplating actually saying what she's thinking of.]

My grandfather was the head of my companies research division, it was because of him that I came into my power. He was researching Shadows and the Power of Persona. He also created a way to give people artificial Persona.

You are correct in the assumption. Sadly, not all advancements have been made to better the lives of the general public. [Just how much should he tell her about Umbrella? He was never fully aware of how the president acquired the subjects, but he had a strong feeling they were very much taken unwillingly.] When I was working for a pharmaceutical company a number of years ago, my colleague and I were working on a cure for a very deadly virus. However, I soon found out that the company was also manufacturing a bioweapon of their own, no doubt testing the virus on several unwilling individuals. Needless to say I resigned and have since devoted my time and effort in manufacturing a cure for that very virus.

[He listens intently as Mitsuru speaks of her grandfather. ] And how do you feel about your grandfather completing the work he did? I know research of any kind will be met with some sort of opposition...

That's unfortunate to hear, it seems that's often the case. [She listened to him speak and frowned.] It must have been a difficult thing for you to learn that. It is however, impressive that you would resign upon learning that and continue your goals to cure the virus. Do you mind if I ask you what the virus is exactly?

[She's silent for a time.] My grandfather was attempting to bring about the end of the world, he was trying to use the Shadows to summon Nyx, the one who would end all life on Earth. I was his first test subject in the Persona project, I was eight years old.

Indeed it was. I was under the impression that the cure would bring an end to, at that time, the worst form of bioterrorism in existence. However, I was wrong; it only sparked the wanting to manufacture newer and more devastating biological weapons. [Ironic how he has created the worst yet in manufacturing Uroboros.

He pauses, wondering which virus he should elaborate on. Perhaps it would be best to simply stick with the tyrant virus.] The T-virus, or tyrant virus, essentially turns the host into what some call a 'zombie'. No longer is the individual cognizant of their actions. These living dead crave only human flesh and are driven by that hunger alone. It is also a way for the virus to ensure transmittance.

[So her grandfather had the same aspirations Wesker did...just different motives. However, now was not the time to admire the man. No, he needed to remain sympathetic toward Mitsuru.] I do wonder what compelled him to attempt such a project. And to involve you at such a young age must have been quite difficult...and ( ... )
