[This tyrant is none too pleased with what happened during the vampire event. He turns on the device to send out a private message.] ( Text | Private to Spencer )

[For the purposes of hiatus, we'll handwave Spencer not noticing much of the vampire event by saying she was absorbed in some research or other. Thus this is all something of a surprise to her]
Death? Wait, what happened? Is there anything I can do to help?

[Sounds good! And he'll respond as such.]
I was affected by the mansion and was transformed into a vampire during the event, much to my dismay. I had an unfortunate run-in with another resident and died. I only know this is true because one moment I was in a corridor outside the kitchen and next I was here, back in my room.
Thank you for the offer, but I am doing fine.
If there is anything else you would like to know, it may be best if we meet in person.

Yes. Approximately half of the residents became vampires, and the other remained human for the duration of the event.
I am currently working on compiling notes for the project. The samples are safe inside the cooler and should remain viable for some time. If you would like to, I can meet you somewhere to discuss it in more detail.
[Spencer looks up as Wesker approaches, a clear look of relief on her face. Despite her more rational side being more than aware of Wesker being okay, since she'd spoken to him, actually seeing him was something she hadn't realised she'd needed until she had]
Oh no, it's fine. Really. I'm just glad to see you're okay.
I have encountered sabotage concerning my research before, and I believe that the rumors will only encourage such behavior. So it is best that we halt the research for the time being.
[A frustrated sigh escapes.] However, we should be able to resume our work within the next week or two...
Sabotage? You think that whoever was asking around about you might try to interfere? I guess it makes sense to lay low for a while, though I don't understand why we should be the ones who get inconvenienced.
You and me both, Spencer. I am only hesitant to continue because a number of companies have interfered with my research before. Those that manufacture the biochemical weapons have interrupted a number of my experiments, destroying cures and samples alike.
And while I am sure none of the residents here work for any of those groups, I am still worried some may choose to take action.
I do thank you for your cooperation and assistance, Spencer. We are progressing as scheduled, and I don't believe the research would have done so without your help.
I do remember you mentioning your mirror taking your textbooks with your notes. Have you been able to obtain new books?

So...what will you do now? Or is this something else we should discuss in person?

Could we?
[Not that she really cares that much about the project right now this second. She just wants to make sure he's okay]

[He'd be more than glad to elaborate in person...give her the 'skinny', as it were.]

[And lo, she heads towards the library]

Morning, Spencer. I apologize for requesting a meeting at this hour, but I would rather speak to you in person about such a matter

Indeed I am. I wasn't quite sure what to expect in experiencing death here in Wonderland...
[He opens the door and motions for her to enter ahead of him.]

[She pushes that thought aside as she enters the library]
So, what's going on? Why the sudden hiatus on the project?
