After 'The Black Shadow' had collapsed X had taken him to a remote location in the ruins. X had arranged a room for his new 'recruit' to recover in.
The series of rooms and halls was cut off from the rest of the ruins by a collapsed section of tunnels. The only entry into this section was a recessed camoflaged doorway hidden in what appeared to be part of the cave-in. In the rooms and tunnels behind the hidden doorway, a generator supplied power for the security systems as well as for comfortable living conditions.
Not too long ago this location had been a secure base of operations for a blackmarket technology and information supplier ring. The group still serviced their client base, of course, but now they also answered to someone else.
It wasn't a large group, less than twenty mechanicals, in all. But they were all firmly X's now. They had been since he'd infected them. He would have preferred them joining him willingly, but he didn't have the luxuries of time and resources to court their loyalty.
At the moment, X was going over some intelligence reports from the group as he waited for 'The Black Shadow' to wake up.
