Valentine's Day and some other random things

Purchased some Black Butler manga (1-2, 4-5, since B+N was out of vol 3 - promptly ordered it and 6 from Amazon for half what I paid in the store...stupid expensive bookstore, I miss Borders) and The Queen's Thief by Megan Whalen Turner for Valentine's Day~

Aaron got the new Twisted Metal and the Metal Gear Solid edition of Risk (because he is a big ol' fanboy dork, but that's okay 'cause I'm a big ol' fangirl derp).

We also saw The Grey, continuing in our tradition of watching incredibly unromantic movies on Valentine's Day (seriously, there was a super-scary plane crash and people getting mauled by wolves - not exactly mooshy...unless you're talking about the dead bodies). Last year we watched Black Swan, and I forget what we watched the year before (probably an action movie). In our defense, we wanted to watch Chronicle...but all the showings were too late. Not that a found-footage film about a bunch of asshole teenagers getting superpowers is much more romantic than seven dudes getting hunted in the Alaskan wilderness by wolves. Liam Neeson is still the biggest badass there is, though.

We have hot water again! At least for now. And I got my car window fixed...though unfortunately it seems that I may need a new battery. My fault for letting the car sit for so long without starting it, I guess. Also I get to call the courthouse tomorrow, since a judge was supposed to look over my case in the past few days. Hopefully s/he'll decide that it's not worth his/her time and throw it out. That'd be awesome. EDIT: buuuut apparently my run of shitty luck continues. Still have to go to court.

Gonna start watching the Black Butler anime soon, because P4's about over and clearly I need more distractions from schoolwork? >_>

Also playing the Mass Effect 3 demo tomorrow. Kinda excited about the co-op multiplayer, since I am incapable of playing first-person games, so that cuts down on my options for playing with other people. Unfortunately, there is no split-screen option, so I can't play with the husband...but I can play online with B, and hopefully we can kick ass and not have to deal with trash-talking twelve year-olds. I dunno, do twelve year-olds play Bioware games? Probably not, since, y'know, optional blue alien side boob is a gazillion times worse than letting your kid shoot other people in the head. Apparently.

rambling, real life
