My primary motivation for making this post, besides spreading good cheer and all that holiday BS, is to ask for a little bit of help from my Chinese-speaking/-reading friends. See, my mom got me a very pretty jade necklace/earring set with Chinese characters on them (presumably, at least - I wouldn't put it past American jewellers to make up something, and I never made it past really basic kanji in my Japanese classes, so I wouldn't know xD), and my in-laws got me a calligraphy set that I have NO IDEA how to use, lol.
There are some pictures under the cut, and any insight would be appreciated. <3
