Title: Gamblers
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Jonghyun/Gwiboon, Onew/Taeyeon
Summary: Jonghyun was just trying to be a nice guy for once in his life, and the thanks he gets is a gun in his face. Getting tangled up with a pair of wily thieves might be the best thing that’s ever happened to him… or, you know, he just might go gay for his roommate.
“Need some help?”
The sweltering heat of summer made the sweat drip down Jonghyun’s back as he got out of his truck and swung the door shut, his steel-toe boots heavy on the pavement as he walked towards the disabled vehicle ten yards in front of him. He had spotted it on his way home and took the first exit to swing back around and help out whoever owned the car, an old clunker that definitely needed some work, the hood popped and smoke billowing from the engine.
In the rear-view mirror five minutes ago he had seen mile-long legs and denim cut-off shorts under the hood, and he wasn’t disappointed when a girl straightened and wiped the sweat from her brow, her blonde hair pulled up in a messy ponytail, plaid shirt unbuttoned and tied under her bust to expose her slender tummy and wide hips. Half of her face was obscured by giant designer sunglasses and the cowboy boots on her feet were for fashion, not for necessity, and she put a hand on her hip as he glossed lips turned up in a smirk.
“Radiator blew,” she said, sounding quite knowledgeable about cars, despite the fact hers was broken and she looked like a cowgirl from a Cosmo magazine.
Jonghyun whistled lowly as he looked at the car, hands on his hips as he bent over a bit to peer under the hood. It was just as the woman said - there was a perfect hole in her radiator and Jonghyun scratched his head, some sweat dripping from his scalp onto his fingers before dissipating in the air in the heat.
“Huh. Well worse things could have happened to this thing,” he said, lifting his boot to kick the bumper lightly.
“Hey now, this was my first car,” the girl wrinkled her nose and pushed at Jonghyun to get him away from her vehicle. “Be nice to it.”
Jonghyun snorted, “I think it’s time to say goodbye to Rusty, sugar.”
“…” The girl huffed and rolled her eyes, pulling the cable and making the hood fall back down with a clatter, Jonghyun jumping. “Get lost.” She rounded the car, hips swaying, bending into the open window to reach for her purse, Jonghyun arching a brow and watching her… finer assets.
“Do you want help?”
“Not from you,” she said, straightening and holding her cell phone, lifting her sunglasses a bit so she could see better.
“Look babe it’s a hundred degrees out and if you want to wait an hour for a tow truck, that’s on you.” Jonghyun shrugged, wiping his greasy hands on his pants, figuring he had too long a day at work to worry about some snobby girl and her car. He started to walk back to his truck, chancing a glance over his shoulder, surprised to see her holding her cell phone up to her ear - was she really so stuck up she was going to wait for a tow truck?
Walking back over to her, he plucked her cell phone from her grasp and tucked it into the (tight) pocket of her shorts, and then hauled her up and tossed her over his shoulder.
“What - !? Let me go!” she shrieked, legs kicking.
“You’re going to die of heat stroke and I, for one, am too much of a gentleman to let that happen.” Jonghyun smirked as he reached into the open window of her car to grab her purse and keys, before heading back to his truck.
“Gentleman!?” she sounded insulted.
He tossed her into the passenger seat of his truck easily enough and got into the driver’s seat, turning the ignition back on and blasting the a/c, pulling away from the shoulder as quick as he could so she couldn’t do anything crazy like jump out or punch him or something. She huffed, crossing her arms, and he handed her purse and keys to her, all too pleased with himself.
“Aren’t you just a knight in shining armor,” she grumbled, putting her phone in her purse and glaring out of the window.
“So where do you live?”
“Just take me to the next gas station, I’ll have a friend pick me up.”
“I think you’re completely misinterpreting the options of help, here,” Jonghyun glanced over, giving the girl a serious look over. “Your car broke down, a handsome man came to help you, now you let him take you home. I’m not going to rape you or take advantage of you, can’t you just let me do my conscience good?”
He heard the click of the gun before he saw the flash of the metal and the cool barrel pressed against his temple was quite a reality check as every part of his body froze and seized up. Thank God for cruise control - his mind out went on overdrive as he saw the girl smirk out of the corner of his eye, and oh Lord he was going to die, wasn’t he?
“And I think you’re misinterpreting the meaning of ‘no’.” The girl scooted closer to Jonghyun, pulling the gun away from his head and looping her other arm around his shoulders casually. “Men like you really need a reality check. No matter how pretty a girl is… no means no. Now, I said take me to the next gas station.”
Jonghyun nodded, licking his lips as he turned on his blinker and got into the exit lane.
“So where are we going?”
“T-To the next gas station,” Jonghyun answered, his heart thudding in his chest, silently hoping that someone would notice a girl holding a gun in the car and call the cops or something. People would notice, right?
“Good.” The girl smiled and settled down in her seat, putting the gun back in her purse, turning up the air conditioner a bit.
Jonghyun pulled into the nearest gas station, putting the truck into park and staying completely still, looking at the girl out of the corner of his eye. She smiled, leaned over and kissed his cheek, and patted his thigh.
“Thanks for the ride, bud. Could’ve died of heat stroke.” She hopped out of the truck and Jonghyun watched as she went into the gas station, blonde ponytail and short shorts disappearing.
Taking a moment to recover himself, he put his truck into gear and peeled out of the parking lot, intent on getting home and not leaving for at least three days.

Grocery shopping wasn’t that scary, as Jonghyun and Jinki pushed their grocery cart through the aisles, Jinki looking over the list he had made. Jonghyun had more or less moved in, and neither of them really paid much mind to it since they were so close beforehand, though the looks they got whenever they were seen at the super market were definitely a bit… curious.
“Do you need to dress like that?” Jonghyun asked, reaching over to zip up Jinki’s hoodie to cover up the sweater vest he was wearing.
Jinki frowned, “What’s wrong with the way I dress?”
“People think we’re a gay couple or something,” Jonghyun grumbled, shoving his hands in his pocket, forcing Jinki to push the grocery cart by himself.
“… Oh,” Jinki pushed his glasses up on his nose and blushed, nodding. “Right. Never thought of that.”
“Can’t you get a girlfriend or something?” Jonghyun asked, letting his eyes linger on a woman that was comparing the prices of apples.
“Can’t you?” Jinki asked, a bit offended.
“Well it’s not my house, dude, if I got a girlfriend it’d be kinda rude,” Jonghyun said, grabbing a bag of potato chips off of the shelf.
“T-That’s not on the list Jonghyun,” Jinki mumbled, taking the potato chips out of the cart and putting them back.
“Besides, after that crazy bitch put a gun to my head, I think I might be gay.” Jonghyun shuddered, reaching for a carton of cookies and tossing them into the basket. “I feel safer with dudes now.”
“One girl out of how many in this city put a gun to your head?” Jinki put the cookies back as well and replaced them with ‘smart calorie’ snacks. “I’m sure she was just a traveler passing through.”
Jonghyun folded his arms over his chest as they rounded the corner into the produce, staring thoughtfully at the over-sized 2-FOR-1 cantaloupe sign. “I don’t know, there’s just something I can’t shake. I feel like it wasn’t some random thing that she and I met, you know?”
Jinki glanced over, in the process of palming a melon, “Was she attractive?”
A woman picked up a lime nearby and sneered, “Pig,” making Jinki blush and quickly bag the melon, throwing it into the cart.
“Fuck yeah,” Jonghyun grinned wolfishly. “Blonde, but you know, not the cheap kind. Wavy and thick, nice rack, flat tummy… this chick coulda been a porn star, man.”
“I d-don’t watch porn,” Jinki said, slightly defensive as he pushed the cart into the next aisle.
“Whatever man,” Jonghyun waved Jinki’s obvious lie away. “And you know in hindsight when I don’t think about the fact she coulda blew my brains out, it was pretty hot that she had a gun.”
“I seriously wonder if you were dropped on your head as a child,” Jinki sighed, picking up a box of penne pasta noodles and tossing them into the cart. “So you’re not turning gay?”
“Bitches might be crazy but I don’t think I could start liking dick, Jinki. I might go for guys like you,” Jonghyun snorted.
Jinki frowned, “What’s wrong with guys like me?”
“Well,” Jonghyun rubbed the back of his neck, obviously having not meant to insult his friend. “I mean - you’re a good guy, just not for me. You know? I uh. I think we’re both too manly to work. I need someone more feminine.”
“So I’m not girly enough for you?”
“That’s not what I mean, you’re plenty femme, you’re just not a fairy - I wouldn’t want to date a fairy, trust me, but I’m just saying bro you’re not my type.”
A guy awkwardly shifted between them to grab a jar of ragu, before speed-walking in the other direction.
Jonghyun patted Jinki’s shoulder, “Do you need me to find you a boyfriend?”
“I- I’m not gay!” Jinki smacked Jonghyun’s hand away.
Screams from the front of the store made both men turn their attention away from each other, yelling and shouting for everyone to get on the floor causing pandemonium in the store. Jinki immediately went down on the floor face-first, whimpering and lacing his fingers behind his neck; Jonghyun felt he recognized one of the voices, however, and tip-toed around the aisle to peer between a few canisters of peanuts to see what the ruckus was.
He’d recognize that body and that hair from anywhere - the same girl from a few weeks ago was holding up the grocery store, another girl with her busy stuffing money from the registers into some bags. Adrenaline pumped through his body, both from fear and being faced with the girl he never thought he’d see ever again.
“What are you doing?” Jinki hissed, reaching out to tug at Jonghyun’s pant leg. “Get down!”
“It’s the girl that jacked me!” Jonghyun said, waving a hand down at Jinki and motioning for him to be quiet.
“What!? So get down before she sees you!” Jinki grabbed Jonghyun’s ankle, pulling him away.
Kicking his leg to try and get out of Jinki’s grip, Jonghyun lost his balance a bit and knocked a few canisters of peanuts over - the women glanced up at Jonghyun gave an awkward smile, waving his fingers at them.
“Fancy seeing you again,” he said to the blonde.
The other girl, who was smaller and had reddish-blonde hair, lifted her gun and aimed it directly at Jonghyun - he flinched and covered his head, but when no gun shot rang out, he peeked out and saw the women walking towards him, the blonde taking off her mask and smirking lightly.
“Well well well, if it isn’t Mr. Knight In Shining Armor himself,” she said.
“Miss-…” he racked his brain for a witty comeback. “Congeniality.”
“Really? That’s your witty comeback?” Jinki hissed from the floor.
The women laughed and the people in the store looked absolutely confused, as the blonde woman sidled up to Jonghyun, pressing the barrel of her gun into the center of his chest. “Why shouldn’t I shoot you? I let you go once.”
Jonghyun smiled through his teeth, sweat dripping down the back of his neck, “I’m good looking?”
The blonde rolled her eyes, handing her bag off to the other girl, whose face was concealed by the mask. She peered around the corner and spotted Jinki, pointing her gun at him and ordering him to stand up - he whimpered in the least manly way possible and got to his feet quickly, cowering and hanging his head as he went and stood next to Jonghyun.
“This your boyfriend?” the blonde asked, nodding towards Jinki.
“I told you everyone thinks we’re gay,” Jonghyun grumbled towards the older man.
“We’re not gay,” Jinki said with a small smile towards the women.
The smaller girl took off her mask, revealing bright blue eyes and pretty bone structure - not to mention startlingly young features. She gave Jinki a small smile, before holding her gun up to his head.
“Is this going to turn into a hate crime?” Jinki asked, swallowing the lump in his throat.
“I’ve got a better idea,” the blonde said, keeping her gun pressed solidly against Jonghyun’s chest, as she moved forward and grinned. “Still got that big truck?”
Jonghyun nodded.
“You’re coming with us.”
Jonghyun and Jinki exchanged looks, but couldn’t disagree as the girls shoved them out of the store at gunpoint, bags of money slung over their backs as they moved into the parking lot.
--
“I can handle you robbing people and pointing a gun around,” Jonghyun said from the backseat of the truck, his hands bound by rope and resting in his lap. “But driving my truck? You put a hole in your radiator!”
The blonde, whose name they learned to be Gwiboon, rolled her eyes and looked at Jonghyun through the rear view mirror. “I think you have a few more things to be worried about than your truck getting a busted radiator.”
“Are you thirsty?” the younger girl, Taeyeon, smiled as she turned around in her seat, offering drinks to the men.
Jinki smiled, leaning forward so his lips could wrap around the straw, sucking out the water gratefully. Jonghyun turned his nose away, grumbling, turning around to get a look at the bed of his pickup.
“How did two women do all of this?”
In the bed of the truck was half of a stolen car (Gwiboon nor Taeyeon would reveal where the other half of the brand-new Mustang was), two safes, and bags upon bags of money. About four million dollars, by Gwiboon’s rough estimation. They didn’t even know what was in the safes.
“Are you saying that women are incapable or that you genuinely want to know how we did this?” Gwiboon asked, turning the air conditioner on low, grinning as she headed West on the interstate.
Jonghyun tipped his head back and sighed, “We’re accessories to theft and whatever other crimes these girls did.”
Jinki glanced over, before looking up at Taeyeon. “… Theft is your only crime, right?”
Taeyeon bit her lower lip, glancing over at the older girl, before giving a small smile towards Jinki. “I think that’s all you need to know for now. Get some rest, we’ll be heading for a motel soon.”
“Rest?” Jonghyun asked, miffed, twisting his wrists a bit. “That’s a good one. Never in my life have I let a woman drive my truck…”
Gwiboon’s eyes met Jonghyun’s through the rear-view mirror, “There’s a lot of firsts that are going to be happening in your life now, get used to it asshole.”
Unable to think of anything intelligent to say, Jonghyun just stuck his tongue out at her.
In all fairness, she returned the gesture.
--
With a tarp over their load in the back of the truck, the four made it into their motel room without incident and under Jonghyun’s name, Jinki immediately falling face-first onto his bed and letting out a gruff sigh. Jonghyun rolled his eyes, holding out his bound hands to Gwiboon - she gave him a testing look, before she pulled a pocket knife out of her right boot and cut him free. Jonghyun rubbed his sore wrists lightly and sat down on the bed, untying Jinki’s wrists as the older man rolled over.
“We’ll be leaving as soon as the sun comes up,” Gwiboon said, as she peered out the curtains before drawing them shut.
“That only leaves three hours for sleep,” Jonghyun said, surprised as he glanced at the clock.
“Got a problem with that?” Gwiboon asked, sitting down in the chair and taking off her boots as Taeyeon moved into the bathroom, starting the shower.
“I don’t see why you couldn’t have taken the truck and just left us,” Jonghyun said, resting his elbows on his knees and staring at Gwiboon, who pulled her hair from its ponytail and started to finger-comb it.
“You’ve seen our faces,” she said, shrugging.
“I’ve seen your face,” he corrected. “I hadn’t seen hers. And what makes you think I woulda turned you in for robbing a grocery store? Fuck, girl, I just wanted to get my groceries for the week.”
“With him?” Gwiboon pointed at Jinki, who was fluffing his pillow. “What are you, gay?”
“Stuff it, unless you’re jealous,” Jonghyun snapped, rubbing his temples and closing his eyes.
Gwiboon wrinkled her nose and stood up as Taeyeon exited the bathroom, freshly showered and dressed in pajamas. “Jealous, pft.” The blonde took off her shirt and threw it at Jonghyun’s head as she disappeared into the bathroom; Jonghyun glanced up just in time to see her unhooking her bra, and that was all it took for him to follow her, shutting the door behind him.
Steam filled the bathroom as Jonghyun pushed her up against the closed door, his hands on her hips and his mouth dangerously close to hers, her breasts pushing against his chest as she let out a soft puff of breath. For a moment their gazes were locked on each other’s mouths, daring the other to move first, daring the other to not move at all, and after a second their mouths moved simultaneously, teeth and tongues clashing as his fingers dug into her hips, his knee moving between her legs. Her head tilted and her arms pulled his shirt away from his body, pulling it up and over his head to toss it aside, the steam in the bathroom clinging to their skin and creating a mixture of condensation and sweat, fingers sliding over flesh as they tried to find purchase. She rolled her body once, grinding her covered pussy down onto his thigh, and he let out a grunt, hands cupping her ass cheeks to lift her up and pull her away from the door, walking over to the shower.
Off came the rest of their clothes, the water from the shower still running from previous use as Jonghyun stepped under it, pulling her with him, watching the water drip down her high cheek bones and gather on her full lips. She had complete control of the situation but in this moment he had complete control of her, as he turned her around and pressed her into the cool tiles of the shower, her breasts making a soft squishing sound as he gently guided her legs apart. The head of his cock slid along the cleft of her ass, pre-cum mixing with water, his lips moving over her shoulder blades as he gathered her hair in one hand and pulled it aside and out of the way, teeth scraping over the wet skin. Her knees shook and she pressed her hands against the wall, her ass grinding back against him and without any guidance her pussy sucked his cock right in, the suction tight and hot and wet as he thrusted, feeling heat coil instantly in his stomach.
She gasped, knuckles turning white as her fingers pressed into the tiled walls, one of his hands moving to grasp at her hip and start the motion of fucking her back onto his cock. He could feel the water cascading down the insides of her thighs along with the juices of her arousal, he could feel her muscles spasming around his dick, he could watch her spine coil and curve and watch her hair get wetter with each passing moment he spent inside of her. Planting his feet, he fucked higher into her, letting out a soft groan and kissing along the side of her neck, his thrusting falling out of rhythm as he gripped both of her hips, her chest falling as she bent over for him, using the leverage to fuck herself backwards onto his cock.
Tangling his fingers into her hair, he tilted her head back so he could see the delicate curve of her neck, watch as her pupils dilated and her mouth parted in ecstasy. Her body trembled and clenched and he pulled out just in time, her fingers finding his cock to squeeze the base and milk his orgasm from him, the seed spilling down the drain with the rest of the water. They were both panting, exhausted, and Jonghyun got out of the shower, drying off quickly and putting on his boxers, exiting the bathroom and sliding into bed next to Jinki, who had already fallen asleep with the television on.
Moments later Gwiboon came out as well, smelling like shampoo and sex, and Jonghyun rolled over, smirking slightly to himself.
--
“Rise and shine!”
Taeyeon whined, pulling the pillow over her head and kicking at the covers. Gwiboon groaned as well, curling into Taeyeon’s side and shaking her head. Jinki sat up, rubbing his eyes and reaching to the night stand to try and find his glasses.
“Wake up bitches, you’re the ones who wanted to leave at the ass-crack of dawn,” Jonghyun opened one of the curtains, which let in a convenient sliver of light that landed perfectly on the snoozing girls.
“Oh God Jonghyun I will murder you and not think twice about where I bury your body,” Gwiboon grumbled, throwing her pillow at Jonghyun before grabbing the blankets Taeyeon kicked off to pull them over her head.
Jonghyun threw a bag onto the girl’s bed and smirked, folding his arms over his chest, already having been up for about an hour or so. Gwiboon sat up, looking rightly confused as she picked up the bag, rubbing her eyes and yawning, opening the bag and reaching inside. Awake within seconds, she pulled out a stack of cash and turned wide eyes up at Jonghyun, who lifted the gun and pointed it at the blonde.
“I think you know how this goes.”
--
“I think you might have gone a little too far, oppa,” Taeyeon said from the back seat, as she leaned forward and wrapped her arms around the passenger seat, her hands running over Jinki’s chest.
“No, I think I did just fine,” Jonghyun said, glancing into the rear-view mirror at Gwiboon.
The blonde’s hands and feet were bound and a gag was in her mouth, her cheeks flushed with anger and eyes narrowed with irritation as she kicked at the back of Jonghyun’s seat, no doubt screaming obscenities through the rag he had stuffed into her mouth.
“Did you need to tie her up like that?” Taeyeon asked.
“Oh yeah.”
“Are you really that mad about your truck?” Jinki asked, chuckling as he handed Taeyeon a bottled water.
“There’s a scratch in my paint. It’s coming out of her salary,” Jonghyun said, adjusting the rear-view mirror as he smirked.
Gwiboon shrieked louder through her gag and kicked harder at Jonghyun’s seat.
--
After a few hours and lots of promises that Gwiboon wasn’t going to go batshit crazy and kill Jinki or Jonghyun (or even Taeyeon), the blonde was finally freed, albeit a bit grumpy as she huffed and flicked the back of Jonghyun’s head.
“You’re a dick.”
“You’re really dumb.”
Gwiboon looked ready to do bodily harm, and Taeyeon wrapped her tiny arms around Gwiboon’s waist, keeping her at bay, the truck swerving as Gwiboon’s legs made it over the seat and started kicking.
“You’re going to kill us all!” Jonghyun yelled once the truck was righted, Jinki patting his jacket for his inhaler, taking a deep puff once he had located it. “Tell us where you were headed.”
“Why should I?” Gwiboon spat, pushing at Taeyeon to try and get her to let go.
“Because I’ll pull into the nearest police station and just drop you two off.” Jonghyun turned on his blinker as they approached an exit.
“Casino Town!” Taeyeon shouted.
Jonghyun merged back onto the interstate, smiling to himself. “Give us a share of what you’ve got and we won’t turn you in.”
“That’s not even a good deal, are you retarded?” Gwiboon kicked the back of Jonghyun’s seat.
“Actually,” Jinki pushed his glasses up on his nose, using the calculator on his smart phone as he turned around in his seat a bit. “Already with what you claim to have, plus with what that half a car is worth, along with what might be in the safes, each of us could walk away with three-point-six million dollars right now.”
“Or Taeyeon and I could walk away with all of it!” Gwiboon reached out to knock Jinki’s phone out of his hand.
Jinki pouted, ducking down to search for it on the floorboards.
“Are you really going to be that greedy?” Jonghyun asked.
“Are you?” Gwiboon shrieked in turn.
“Unnie it’s not that bad of a deal, if we took it then we’d be done with them,” Taeyeon suggested, putting a hand on Gwiboon’s thigh.
Jinki swallowed thickly, averting his eyes from the sight.
“No way! First this guy -“, she smacked Jonghyun upside the head, “-fucks me and then takes advantage of us, no way am I going to let him get my money too!”
“Technically it’s not y-your money,” Jinki said, lifting a finger.
“Oh my God can it Urkel,” Gwiboon said, glaring at Jinki.
“Hey,” Taeyeon pouted.
“SHUT. UP.” Jonghyun yelled over everyone, gripping the steering wheel tight. “Why were you heading towards Casino Town?”
“There’s a fifty million dollar jackpot on Saturday,” Taeyeon said quickly, and Gwiboon groaned as she leaned back in her seat.
“So you were going to hold up the casino?” Jonghyun asked, incredulous.
“Well… yeah.” Taeyeon shrugged.
“Why don’t you just play for it?” Jinki said.
Everyone fell silent.
“What.” Gwiboon lifted her head and stared at Jinki like he had grown another head.
“… I said why don’t you just enter the pot and play for it?” Jinki said, pushing his glasses up on his nose and shifting in his seat, licking his lips and holding up his phone, as well as counting a few numbers on his fingers. “If all four of us went in that would increase our odds by three percent based on luck alone, based on skill it’s increased by four-point-five. If we managed to rig the games, we go from four-point-five to seventy percent, and then after that it’s all about timing and managing and out of the four of us, one of us should win the jackpot. That is, if we follow through with the rigging and the counting.”
Gwiboon leaned forward in her seat, squinting, “And you know how to do this?”
Jinki smiled nervously, “I’ve watched a lot of gambling movies?”
“The guy’s a genius,” Jonghyun interrupted. “I didn’t get this truck because I haven’t an awesome credit score or a well-paying job.”
The older man chuckled modestly, “Well I just know how to pull strings is all…”
“The jackpot split between us is only twelve-point-five mil.” Gwiboon sat back, thumbing her bottom lip.
“But plus what we already have is fifteen,” Taeyeon frowned softly, hands still on Gwiboon’s thigh. “Isn’t that enough? Together that’s thirty.”
For a few moments, Gwiboon seemed to contemplate, and then she smiled. “Alright boys. Change of plan. Looks like we’ve got a date for Saturday night.”
--
“I’m still in charge of the operation,” Jonghyun said, as he adjusted the cufflinks on his tuxedo.
Gwiboon rolled her eyes, in the process of curling her hair in the bathroom, Taeyeon zipping up the back of her dress. “Right. Whatever.”
“Does everyone remember what to do?” Jinki asked, straightening his bow-tie in the mirror.
“Play the tables, don’t make it obvious you’re counting, keep moving,” Gwiboon said, blotting her lipstick on a tissue as she fluffed her hair, examining her look before deeming it alright, pulling her red cocktail dress down a bit to cover more of her thighs and expose more of her cleavage. “Don’t stay at a table for more than four rounds.”
“Right.” Jinki smiled, helping Taeyeon put on a pretty chandelier necklace. “If you even think that someone notices what you’re doing, abandon your table and meet with someone. Couple up. If you see someone in a pair, stop what you’re doing and abort the mission.”
“Jeez Jinki, you sound like a pro,” Jonghyun chuckled, sitting on the bed and sliding his feet into a pair of dress shoes, bending over to tie them securely. “If I didn’t know any better I’d say you’ve done this before.”
Jinki wiped his hands on his pants, “Is it normal to be sweating this much? I think I’ve perspired twice my daily intake of water.”
“…” Jonghyun shook his head, standing up and putting a small mirror in his cuff. “Alright. Good luck.”
Gwiboon gave Jonghyun a once-over, before she exited the room first, closely followed by Taeyeon, then Jinki, Jonghyun the last to leave.
They went to different corners of the casino, each starting with small amounts and working their way slowly upwards. At his table, Jonghyun made use of the mirror in his cuff to sneak peeks at the other player’s hands, knowing when to bet and when to fold, sharing flirty smiles with the dealer girl as he pulled in the poker chips and sipped on water.
He passed his eyes around the casino to see how everyone else was doing; Gwiboon was flirting her way through the tables, as predicted, looking like a 1940’s Hollywood starlet as she smiled and gambled away. Taeyeon was a bit more reserved, playing on her innocence and even going so far as to asking older men to help her out - Jinki was staying quiet, clearly concentrating on his game, looking like a frequent customer of the gambling tables.
It went on like this for about two hours, alternating between tables and slot machines, following Jinki’s close direction on which machines to go to at which times. Nearing the stroke of midnight, Jonghyun was taking a break and sipping on some more water, not much of a drinker, when he noticed some activity up by the giant piggy bank that held the jackpot of fifty million dollars in the center rise of the casino.
Furrowing his brows, he tried to see what it was - a few lights sparked and one of the wires of the piggy bank snapped, sending it sailing downwards, and up on the catwalk he saw Gwiboon and Taeyeon, dresses immaculate and expressions full of surprise as the piggy bank swung precariously on the two wires.
Patrons screamed and ran for cover and security guards came rushing in to see what the commotion was about, and Gwiboon jumped onto one of the wires, sliding down to the piggy bank and opening the hatch, climbing inside of the giant container as Taeyeon threw a bag to her. Jonghyun choked on his water as he watched Gwiboon stuff the money into the bag and crawl out, slinging the bag over her shoulder and climbing up the wire as the security men drew their guns and ordered her down.
Using the motion of the swinging piggy bank, Gwiboon made it swing wider and longer, Taeyeon jumping off of the catwalk and joining the older girl, both of them holding onto the wire as they swung in mid-air. The security officers ordered them down once more and Gwiboon reached down to pull her cocktail dress up, revealing a wedding garter and a tiny pistol, taking aim at the officers and yelling something Jonghyun couldn’t hear.
Jinki came up behind Jonghyun, looking just as dumbstruck, the two men watching as Gwiboon raised the gun to the ceiling of the building and shot at it three times - part of the roof peeled away like the lid to a can of tuna, a helicopter deafeningly close as a hook came down towards the women. Gwiboon hooked it to the piggy bank and wrapped an arm around Taeyeon’s waist to secure her, and as the helicopter pulled them and their loot out of the building, her eyes caught Jonghyun’s, and he felt his heart sink into the pit of his stomach.
Something told him it wasn’t just because he got cheated out of fifteen million dollars.
--
“We did all of this for nothing.”
Jinki and Jonghyun sat on the steps of the casino amongst all of the sirens and flashing lights, staring at the pavement, in utter shock of what had just happened.
“The escape, the planning…” Jinki ran a hand over his face. “Getting kidnapped. Helping them out. Look at what we’re left with.” He looked over at Jonghyun’s truck, which still had half of a Mustang in the back. “Shoulda known those girls wouldn’t have gone through with such an elaborate plan. ‘Point guns, ask questions later’ was more their style.”
Jonghyun had his cheek in his hand and his elbow on his knee, as he let out a sigh and leaned back a bit.
“Maybe we should be gay,” Jinki whined.
“You two,” a female officer called out towards Jonghyun and Jinki, who didn’t even budge. “Come with me, I’ll need a statement from you.”
“We’ve already given a statement,” Jonghyun said, standing up and taking off his suit jacket, putting it over his shoulder as he and Jinki moved over towards the officer and her car.

Jonghyun leaned back, unbuttoning his shirt and smiling. “I think we’ll start out at the next gas station and go from there.”
