In which Jill has a very nice day...
I don't think I remember being this happy. At least, not for a while. Today, I went and visited Allegheny and talked to my old boss for about an hour, with a few of the others in the office coming in to talk and wish me luck in my job search. It was just so nice catching up and talking to them again. I loved working there.
Then, I walked up to the Steffee lot to wait for the E-team van. I drove out to the barn with Kate and two new freshmen. Once we got there, my old instructor seemed happy to see me. She knew I was coming, but I think she was still surprised that I'd drop by for a visit. I got to ride my favorite horse, Sugar, and I had the best ride I've had since graduation. I seriously don't think I'll ever be as comfortable on any other horse. I haven't cantered since I last rode her because it usually makes me nervous, but I didn't feel an ounce of fear at all. When Halli told me to go into a canter, I just did, and that's a first for me. I guess it just felt so good being there again. They also have two of the furriest, cutest and friendliest barn cats I've ever met. So, overall, this day kicked ass. I'm hoping that after work at the barn tomorrow, I can force myself to get the horse I ride there into a good canter. I really need to work on that...
