So. >_> I hope this doesn't annoy you folks on my friends list, but... My teacher is handing out 5 bonus points per week up to a max of 25 points for each weekly math question we get right.
And I need help. :[
Heres the question:
A bag contains three red marbles and 5 blue marbles. How many times, without looking, must I pull out a marble to be certain I will have a red marble in my hand?
...Frankly, this question is bullsh*t to me. IT'S LEFT UP TO PURE CHANCE/LUCK. HOW CAN YOU TAKE THAT INTO A MATHMATICAL EQUATION?!
If you're a lucky person, you may get a red one on your first draw. If unlucky, you may get all 5 blue ones. >_>;;; I'm sure theres some kind of Probability formula for it, but...it's way above my head. :(
