Special Characteristics A rose of great historical importance. Very free flowering.
An excellent shrub by any standards and very useful in the garden. Large, semi-double, light crimson flowers, open wide to reveal golden stamens. Although only once flowering, it flowers very freely, producing a mass of colour. There is a pure Old Rose fragrance. It forms a low branching shrub, the blooms held nicely poised above ample dark green foliage. The flowers are followed by small round hips in the autumn. An extremely healthy, tough and reliable variety.
