В этом году ежегодный фестиваль культуры эпохи Возрождения "Золотой Век", также известный как "Александрийская карусель" пройдет на том же месте - в парке "Александрия" ГМЗ Петергоф

30 июня - 1 июля 2012 года

Будет еще лучше, красочней, с учетом того, что стоило учесть после прошлого года и, конечно, тем, что нужно будет учесть в следующем году:))

This year annual renaissance culture festival "Golden Age"(GA), also known as "Alexandra's Carusel" will take place on the same location in the Alexandria park of Getergof State Museum.

30 of June - 1 July of 2012

It will be better, more colorfull and will include everything we should have included last year and, of course lack things we should include next year :))

Of course, we will be glad to see everyone as spectators, but here and now I'm writing this to those participants, known and unknown to us yet.

Form, time, features, requirements.

A required disclaimer: GA is NOT a festival of living history reconstruction. It is an event made for the nowadays spectators and participants, made as close as it is each time possible and required for us to look like festival/carusel/street or court Europeen holiday fair of the end of 16-th - begining of 17-th century. Thus any argues about plastic bottles, synthetic fabrics and braids of wrong configuration are not suitable by defintion of the event. Yet this does not mean that there're no requirements at all, they are just different. Hope it is clear :)

Disclainer 2: We are focused on the spectators, but not the program for the participants. Experience shows, and this year is not likely to show the opposite, that life-powers of the organization team are not enough to make both development/running/support of the performance part and organization of the inter-participant part. Moreover - after the performance part we are already too tired for anything else :) Yet, if there ARE active participants, interested and ready to prepare and run the inter-participant part, we will offer our support and help as much as we can and able to.

Now to the main topic.

Currently we plan to make the event lasting two days - Satturday and Sunday, from aproximately 12pm till 4/5pm. There are two locations - performance area (main stage, small stage, meadow in front of the main stage for the carusel etc.) and interactive area (tents and other small locations for the authentic and not so authentic games and shows).

On Satturday our team (united team of "Vento del Tempo"-"Siluet"-"frugonny theatre" and co) is working on the performance area, making the carusel itself plus some, may be, additional performances. So it will be too hard for us to handle the interactive area in the same time.
On Sunday - vice versa - we are handling the interactive area, and the performance area is free for other performing teams.

Switching to the core:)

We are inviting groups and individuals to participate in the festival if they are ready to:
a) Show stage performances in the style of the announced epoch (what it would be exactly is discussible and agreedable: anything from dances to acrobatics:),
b) Work on the intercative place with children and grown-ups of all ages.

Also we are inviting artisants and masters to the fair (the from of participation and items for sale are to be discussed).
And we need volunteers, who will run and shout, since the are always required.

Necessary details

1. The ideal situation is when your group can handle both a) and b). Truth is that almost surely we will not be able to pay you for the performance, since for the spectators the cost for the whole thing is just the park entrance fee. We are only promicing you a good company of insane people and quite a good place for the action (noting it is located in the middle of the green-field:)), good place, PR, possibilities for self-advertising and about 3 thousand people a day (yet not at once:) And, well, the sun-burn:)) But. In the reasonable scale you can make the interactive part payed by the spectators, and it works. The Petergof Museum takes some part of the money profits, yet we, as organizators do not take a penny, so you take the rest:) Interesting show, made fine = fine interesting money, ill-made and dull interactive = bad or no money.
Yet free shows and iteractives are required very much:)
2. It does matter to us how and where everything will take place. Frankly, yes, we are not world-known stars:), but exact and defined view on what should and what shouldn't be on the festival exists. So we will have dress-codes, previews (in case we are not familiar with you yet) and we will boldly require to make additions and editions or make refuses in cases when something does not suit.

I could write here even more answers to the questions coming to my mind as if told by the future participants, but it is better if you ask the questions yourself, so that I or others could answer you:))

P.S. Short history of the matter. The project emerged so to say unexpectedly in 2009. For the first time it took place in Gatchina in front of the priorate palace where it immersed. Starting from 2010 GA is taking place in the Alexandria park in Petergof. In 2010 this was one-day festival of small format on a small stage with almost no additional program, yet it still was sweet cool.

In the 2011 trees grew larger, the area quite expanded, additional attractions appeared, creative horses, people and volleys of thousands of guns were here and there. Ups, volleys were in 2010... The event lasted one day non-stop and everyone were tired yet this wasn't enough fun.
