a birthday present!
Oh, part of my birthday present from my in-laws was some money to get a new set of dishes. This has been years in the making. We registered for a set of everyday plates at Target that I thought I'd like. Um yeah. I ended up hating them. :( Ok, I mostly just hated the bowls. They're the flat bowls, and I've discovered that I hate flat bowls. Anyway, I've been looking around for a set of dishes that I like for years. I have never found anything. I went to World Market when my mother-in-law was here in town and loved a set of dishes there. She kept her ears open and sent me money to purchase them. :) So today, my husband and I went to World Market and had a grand ol' time picking out dishes. So, yay!
They're black and cream.
And look, ACTUAL BOWLS, with a BOWL SHAPE! The little itty-bitty dipping plates are adorable. I can see them being used for sauces or snacks. Now, we have to get new silverware and glasses. And change the rest of the kitchen from blue and white to black and off-white. Heh...
