Hello Dolly is fabulous. Those who can should see it. It's at the FHS auditorium, tonight (the 11th), next Thursday-Saturday (the 16th-18th) at 7. $10 for adults and $7 for kids/seniors.
I'm playing no. 3 singles on varsity! Go me. I'm the only junior singles player, the rest are seniors.
Anyway, on Thursday I ended up parking next to Chris Smith's car. When I left from tennis, he was leaving from track, so we ended up talking to each other by our cars. He asked what I have been up to, and I told him about the play and how it was opening night. He asked how tennis was going and if I'm on varsity (he recalled a conversation about a month ago in which I told him I was nervous about playing varsity). I asked him about track and he said that he didn't have such a great day, since he ran a 5:22 mile and his goal is a 4:30.
Then yesterday I saw him again. He asked how opening night was.
That's when I finally realized what I like about him so much. He actually listens to you! That wasn't the first time I've told him something insignificant I was about to do and he's asked how it went. I'd tried to pin it before, but that's what it is. Once I mentioned that I was playing a solo for a concert, and the next week he asked me how it went and if people clapped a lot.
I'm going to miss him a lot when he's at the Air Force Academy next year.
