Nonetheless, still frustrating

Amber,

I received your phone message this morning. The final results have just been
released-- I've included an electronic version of your letter below. You've
done really well with your application and audition this year. I encourage
you to keep us in mind for next year. We'd love to hear you play again!

Beat regards, Craig

Dear Amber,

On behalf of the Henry Mancini Institute, I want to thank you for your
application to the 2006 HMI Summer Music Festival. Everyone who was placed
on the waitlist is considered a qualified candidate for our program. But,
unfortunately, the number of invitations is necessarily limited by the
regulations of the ensembles. We appreciate your patience in waiting, but
cannot offer you a position with the Institute this year.

You are on our mailing list and will receive a concert schedule for this
summer¹s HMI performances, as well as a catalog and application for the 2007
season.

Your application and audition truly stood above the hundreds of HMI hopefuls
applying from colleges and conservatories worldwide. We sincerely hope you
will consider applying again next year, and look forward to hearing from you
again soon!

Very truly yours,
Jill Packard
