After four rotations, I have come to a decision: I am joining Brendan Lee's lab and I will spend the next four plus year studying post translational modifications of collagens. Brendan pulled me aside today to offer me a spot in his lab after presenting a review of hydroxylation domains to his lab. I meed with Huda Zoghbi tomorrow to talk about possibilities in her lab and I hear she's going to offer me a spot. However, I feel so much more comfortable in Brendan's lab. The only thing that will change my mind is if the project she has in mind for me to work on is so incredible that it'd be silly to pass up. I was so worried that I was not going to get any offers, but I guess I have the opposite problem of having too many offers, which I'd rather have.
I know it's been a while since posting here but this has been one of the most stressful times for me. At first, I thought another girl was going to take my spot in Brendan's lab. It turns out that he's going to take both of us so I really had nothing to worry about. Since Huda Zoghbi's lab is very competitive, I was worried that she wouldn't have room for me and then I'd have to evaluate other options. Luckily, hard work pays off since they both think I do quality work. I am excited for the future since I will move into a lab home and no longer have to go to class!
Both Huda and Brendan are distinguished professors, so I can't really go wrong with either choice. For those who are interested, here are their bios:

In fact, I bought a MacBook and I am very pleased with it so far. I bought the new computer because my old one wouldn't support a statistics software I was required to use for my biostats class this term. I made the switch and so far it has been very painless. I don't know why I didn't switch earlier.
That's all. Classes will finish in two weeks from today. Then, no more classes! And I begin my qualifier exam next month, which should be quite a challenge.
Peace.
