Why The Hell Am I Up?
It's 8:00 am and I am awake. Not even 'still' awake from the previous night,
I slept and everything. And I was at 'Parliament House' from 4:00 pm until
11:30 pm yesterday for the 'Babes In Bonnets' benefit, which was even more fun than
last year. It's an event in which the queens make elaborate Easter Bonnets
and then auction them off to raise money for charity. Some bonnets raised
$300-500.00! Everyone was having cocktails poolside and it was just a gorgeous time.
Deja participated, and her bonnet (and outfit) was simply amazing; a tiki inspired creation
complete with flowers, little hawaiian dolls, and a smoking volcano!
The owners of P House actually bought this one (awesome!), but when
they heard of our tiki inspired balcony project at my place,
they so generously gave it to me! I swear I have to post pics from yesterday,
and the balcony... I need my own digital camera!
Working at 'Southern Nights' Saturday was a blast too (as usual), a bunch of my
girl buddies showed up, and we had our own little 'DiVa' party at the back bar!
Shannon, Rebecca, Renee, Natalie, Christina, as well as Kat and Sassy from the
staff all whooped it up with me; gotta love getting paid to have that much fun.
After hours, played 80's trivia with James, EJ, and John; so cool to work with
people who are into all the crazy old shit I am ;)!
The baby ducks just woke up outside and stumbled out from under the jasmine vines,
they're all cuddled up on the bank of the canal, warming up in the sun. Dawww =)
Okay perhaps this early rising thing is just a mirage... I think I'm still sleepy.
Another hour or two of napping and I'll be good to go.
