Well I only got an hour and a half of sleep last night since I had to catch the 4:09am train to NYC this morning. I have to say getting into NYC at 5:00 am and it being totally dead was really nice. I really fucking love the city and still wonder why I'm not living there. Anyway, when I woke up this morning at 3:00 am I was wondering is this really worth it? Abso fucking lutely it was worth it. Best concert EVER. It was just fantastic chaos and I just can not tell you how much I love Green Day. My favorite band hands down. I really wanna know who's brilliant idea it was to have them do Summer Session cause that person at Good Morning America needs their head examined.
To say we were a rowdy crowd is an understatement but this is what happens when people are drunk and punch drunk. 7am for a concert is just wrong. The band came on at 730am and the sound check was awesome. The band played Know Your Enemy, Judges Daughter, Christie Road, American Idiot and Longview. The GMA guys were all these are the rules: no swearing, no moshing, no crowd surfing, no cameras, no throwing things at the band. blah, blah blah.... Of course no one listened and the crowd was screaming and chanting random shit like Screw Minnesota and Louder. Some kids got hurt during soundcheck and BIllie had the medics check them out. Then he played happy birthday since some people were all its my birthday and then someone yelled its everyones unbirthday. At the end of soundcheck Billie was all this is the best soundcheck I've ever been to. I wanna do more soundchecks like this.
They finally came back on around 830ish to play. The GMA people kept cutting Billies mic to try and keep us quiet but he just resorted to screaming and hand signals. One of the best parts was when Billie had everyone chanting BARBEQUE!!! BABY BACK RIBS!!!! BARBEQUE SUCKS!!!! The bitches promised us food and guess what no food! Filthy liars. Then they were doing the weather and Tre snatched the mic and screamed its Fucking HOT that;s the weather. Someone should really watch him more carefully lol. Sometime during the set they did an interview and someone threw a roll of toliet paper at them. Well Tre just went with it and started dancing around the stage with it like a gymnast doing a floor program lol. I got pics and will post them soon. Let's see what else. Billie pulled some little girl on stage to dance with him she was so freaking adorable. Then the GMA people were like you have one more song left and Billie was all I'm playing I just got warmed up with all your stopping and starting bullshit. Then he was asking the crowd what they wanted to hear. People were screaming for 21 Guns but Billie wanted to play St. Jimmy till Mike was all No lets play something longer fuck them.
Set list: Know Your Enemy, American Idiot, She, 21st Century Breakdown, East Jesus Nowhere, Static Age, Longview and Jesus of Surburbia.
After the concert we walked around central park for awhile and met some dude dressed up like a wizard. Of course my friend Jen had to talk to him and he was all into his whole wizard deal speaking in some crazy ass shakesperan accent. Then there was the crazy dude living under the bridge, I of course didnt wanna walk under the bridge. I hear this werid singing/talking type thing going on in there in the dark and was all this is the point in the horror movie where you should walk the other way. But he was too into his own little world to even notice us. And I finally saw the Alice in Wonderland statue. All in all it was a good day.
