Today is Beltane and in my mother's religion, neo-paganism, it is the day to celebrate the union of the Goddess (also known as The Lady of the May) and her consort, the Horned God Cernunnos (also known as the The Lord of the May.) Mom took Beltane seriously. Robin, Julian, and I were always bundled off to grandparents so she and my father could really celebrate.
So, my lovely het friends, go get yourself some good loving today. Without you all, the world would never know the beauty of fertility and all the wonderful creatures that come from it. I lift a glass of wine to you and hope as many of you as possible can spend your day like the Goddess and her God:
And if you need a little mood music, here's my
favorite song of the season.
Happy Beltane. :3
