Only rabid history geeks could have made Night at the Museum. You can tell because when they were deciding on who should write the screenplay, someone must have said, "Ninjas and pirates? Pfft. Let's have a battle between cowboys and the Romans. Then, let's have them join forces with a dinosaur, Atilla the Hun, AND a hot Pharaoh to fight crime."
"OMG that sounds ridiculously badass." Someone else replied. "If you can find a way to have Dick Van Dyke karate kick Ben Stiller in the face, you can not only write the script, but also have my first born child."
"Consider it done." The newly appointed screenwriter replied. And lo and behold, he even threw in Union and Confederate soldiers TPing the lobby of the museum.
The geekiness was practically oozing from the movie screen.
