TUESDAY:
Laibach
Tue 8pm
Fillmore New York at Irving Plaza
Laibach has been repurposing totalitarian aesthetics for its own subversive ends for almost three decades now. The Slovenian group-which plies a sort of menacing industrial-orchestral pageantry-has issued some fascinating music recently, such as 2006’s Volk, which painted grim portraits of patriotism around the world. The band’s latest is Laibachkunstderfuge, a reinterpretation of Bach’s The Art of Fugue.
OR
Michael Gira
The Stone
www.thestonenyc.com
Armed with only an acoustic guitar and a commanding baritone, ex-Swan Michael Gira could make mincemeat out of the most “extreme” metal and punk bands. His heavy-handed strumming and clear, virile voice-not to mention his impeccable, neatly pressed appearance-lend ample gravitas to even his prettiest folk ballads. Tonight he performs an intimate solo set.

WEDNESDAY:
ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN!!!!!

FRIDAY:
ZINE RELEASE PARTY

SATURDAY:
NICK CAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG. OMG. OMG.
