I watched over Atem vigilantly. I dare not allow him to be touched by anyone else. Something within me tells me that he shouldn't be touched with hands other than those that worthy of his grace. He's a pharaoh. My pharaoh, und something within me has awoken the day I fell off the balcony. My dreams have changed und I can't seem to understand the meaning. I see the throne room of an ancient castle, yet I didn't feel out of place. Was it Egypt I saw? The vase that Atem has given me with the Egyptian Rose awoken a memory I believe of something far more ancient than I can understand. One of my maids approached me und handed me the cloths to moisten his brow. She was about to do it herself when I grabbed her wrist to stop her from going any further. I offered no apology, but rather I had given her a cold stare that told her that she should leave.
I look in the mirror und take a look at myself, not out of vanity, but out of wonder. What is happening to me? Normally I would allow them to do their job, but this time is different. He's much more than a mortal, he's a living god. A god that knows no equal und he deserves the best that we have to offer. If it means being his personal servant, then so be it. I don't find it demeaning, but instead an honor. It's rare that I do such things, und there are times that I need guidance. He's my love und my life. I would give my life for him, if he would allow me to. I would give my blood if he asks.
I stood at his bedside, hoping that he would awaken. I feared the worst. My heart sank the moment I saw Atem fall against the wall. He was going to use the last of his life energy to seal the caverns. I cried that night when I went to bed. I awoke while it was still dark. My sleep was troubled. Then I heard a voice. A voice that was calming und he introduced himself as Mohado. He said that he has been with me the moment my life neared it's end. He said that since I was about to die, he couldn't bear to see his love in tears again. He gave part of his soul to me. He told me the reason why. He said that since the both of us love him, it was only fitting to share the same body und since mine wasn't dead, but barely hanging on to life, it was fitting that he would merge with me to sustain me. As a result, he healed my wounds und cured me of my blindness. I thought it was the second bump on the head that did that, but who am I to turn a spirit away when he wants the same thing that I do.
We both want Atem to be happy. We both love Atem in ways that only we know how und yet it seems strange that we share the same feelings, thoughts und now powers und a body. It's like two people living in the same vessel. Now I understand what Malik, Bakura und Yugi were talking about. It's not easy. For now, we are content with each other. We know what we would do for Atem und we are willing to do whatever it takes to make his happiness a reality.
Mohado explained that there is a force out there when he was wandering that is trying to steal souls und use them to revive a greater demon. Its other demons that are trying to bring this thing back. This isn't a good sign at all. I somehow feel that we have a lot of work ahead of us. I sense troubles ahead but I can't tell when. My premonitions are not that strong und my powers are still underdeveloped. Granted that I share a body with a powerful magician in Atem's court, that still doesn't mean that my body can harness such power. I'm not accustomed to such magics yet as my mind is untrained. There is so much for me to learn yet I'm excited und scared at the same time. How can I be a good guardian if I can't handle a simple spell?
Mohado says that I will learn in time. I sound crazy! I'm talking to myself! What would Atem think if he found me talking like this? I let my shoulders fall as I realize that this is my reality. My new life. I am not ashamed about Atem, I'm feeling off balance und confused. Yet this Mohado claims that he can help me. How can he do that when his physical body, according to his memories, was destroyed when he was protecting the pharaoh. There was something he said to me when I was unconscious. He said that I would have his memories und his magic. That would be his final gift to me when he decides that I am ready to be the sole possessor of the magic. I think this is his way of giving me the power that I was denied when I was a child. My power was present, und oddly enough, my mother came from a lineage of witches, yet she never allowed me to practice magic. Ironic really. I laugh at the thought.
My father came from a lineage of guardians und since he married my mother, he felt incomplete. He was unable to complete my training that he practiced with me in private. We would practice for an hour each night, which really isn't enough to learn any full blown spells. Just little things that kept my spiritual link with the castle strong enough to sense when the spirits were restless und when they are calm. That's about it. He told me of the crown, but he never did get the chance to go into detail. I became tainted after his death. I became a shut in within my own mind. I became what others didn't want to be. I became vane, cruel und cold. I became a child of the narcissistic ideals that others thought would be a dream come true. I hated myself for it.
After meeting Malik und falling in love for the first time without feeling like I have to give myself to make them stay, I began to love myself more. Raphael taught me to love und respect myself. I have kept his meditation techniques und I have used them not only to help myself, I used them to help another, which is the greatest gift that anyone can give. Falling in love with Atem showed me that there is more to love than the physical passion that comes with it. Sure it's nice, but love is greater than anything that money can buy.
I'm grateful that I am surrounded by the love in my home und I hope the best for Raphael, Vivian, Pegasus und Sam as they travel to find the answers to this demon problem. In the meantime, I will be here with Leon, Malik, und Atem as we find a way to stop the problem from getting worse. My castle is a gateway und a safe haven for spirits und it's my duty to see that they are safe.
