Training etc,

The training went pretty well I think, Dallas seems fairly confident, and quite agile, she can’t match me, obviously, but then that’s because she’s a watcher and not a slayer, only natural, she seems good at anticipating my moves though, which is a definite advantage for a Watcher.

David had some pointers, both for me and Dallas, I need to work on varying my attack techniques a bit more, I guess I’ve got kind of used to attacking in a similar kind of way, and that leaves me vulnerable to being attacked by someone knowledgeable of my technique and ways to exploit it.

I’ve lined up a training session with one of the more experienced watchers in order to give me some ideas for more variation.

Dallas is pretty good, she has some things she needs to work on as well, but she is very new, so it’s hardly surprising.

Was kind of strange to be watched by another slayer, Ariel was very quiet, but her eyes barely left Dallas, I hope David didn’t notice, I don’t know how well he’d take to slayer-watcher relationships...

We had a bit of a multi attack session, where both Ariel and Dallas came at me, to try and see how well Dallas was able to co-ordinate with a slayer, they co-ordinated well, but then that’s to be expected considering their relationship.... Ariel is not so great with hand to hand combat, but does very well when weapons are involved, so I imagine David will speak to Ieuan about that...

I’ve kind of mostly kept quiet about my own not having a watcher, especially since what happened to Henri, but I do miss the closeness and the protectiveness you get with Watcher-Slayer relationships (although not including Dallas-Ariel in that!) My watcher was the best father figure I probably ever had although I’m not sure I want the consequences that being in that role seems to bring people...

I’d wandered around the council a bit afterwards, and noticed a couple of new faces, hopefully I’ll get a chance to talk to them more.

I headed back to my room, which was almost completely Violetized now, and felt more like home than anything I can remember in a long time...

I wondered idly where Jeremy was and what he was doing, but it did no good to think too long on him...
