Pumpkin Party - Definatlely an Annual Event from now on

The pumpkin carving party was a raving success. I have lots of great pictures to share. I think the only thing I'd do differently was rather than just handing out those cute felt bags I made as pinata bags...I'm going to put goodies in them first so that every single kid could get a 'prize' for their pumpkins. We had children and adult categories.

I cut up vegetables and candies and laid out toothpicks so the little children could participate w/o having to cut the pumpkin. I can't believe how creative everyone was!

There were 56 adult and children here. Only 1/2 the people actually carved a pumpkin though. It really didn't seem like there were that many people in the back yard.

The grassy area was set up with tables for the pumpkin carving and the patio was the 'eating area'. I know...I'm a dork. I even set up little "hand washing" stations as well. I think I bought about 20 sets of pumpkin carver/scoops.

At the end of the evening, we set all the pumpkins on the ground and lit them. It was beautiful!

My cousin's little boy is quite shy. My grandma took him up to Ben and said "Ben, this is Brycen...he's shy. Will you show him around the yard and play with him?" Ben put his arm around Brycen's shoulders and said "Sure I will. He's my couuuuuuusin. We should love each other". :) I'm always so proud of my sweet sensitive child. He's the most amazing person (adult or child) I know.

As I'm resizing photos, I'mm watching this great show that was on PBS. It's this 3 part "Broadway" series. I wouldn't have known about it...but, Steve Tivo'd it for me knowing I'd love it.
