Littleradge's Side Bar Comments:
So if the question isn't clear, it's like this. If you could travel back to 10 years ago (1999), and say 10 things to your younger self, what would YOU say?
We're not gonna discuss the ethics of time travel and paradoxes here, but a couple of people are taking it a bit too seriously. Think of it like the time travel in "Heroes", where they go back, change everything and still NOTHING HAPPENS.
The idea is that you can get a little insight into different parts of people's pasts, and build up a story and learn a bit about them. Fun for people who like to think! xD
So tell me your things, either in the comments or in a video response! :D
So!
I've been watching Littleradge's videos for a few months now and they are great!
Thought his idea was an interesting one, so I gave it a shot:
Ten years ago - In January 1999, I was 24 & six months married, so:
1. Get on proper medication. Now.
2. Take finances from hubby, he’s wonderful but completely sucks at the money. Get rid of credit cards.
3.Move to McH. where your friends are/will be.
4.Even though RE is a dick, stick with B&N until to can get to McH.
4.Find an office job.
5.Don’t tell S&A to move to Rkfd, you will be moving away soon enough.
6.You aren’t cut out to be a counselor, you are too empathetic. That’s okay, it will be alright. You’ll use your talents in other ways. Therefore, don’t take the job at the drug rehab center. It will put you in the hospital. Not kidding.
7.Tell B&J and J&C to look into adoption now, rather than years from now.
8.You will love your in-laws insanely. Appreciate the time you get & talk to them even if you have nothing to say.
9. Your thirties will rock!
10.You will love being married, you will love your husband more and more each day & the sex gets better & better!
To get into the spirit of the young people on the comments who were all, like, yeah, so I was FIVE or TWO - here’s the list for Jan 1989 when I was 14:
1. This will be the worst year of your life. It’s not your fault. The effects will last for years. You WILL get through it, but it will affect you for the rest of your life. Although it hurts like hell and you will want to die, you will become strong and did I mention you WILL get though it?
2. Convert to Christianity. Don’t wait until later. Don’t become a youth leader, though, until at least college.
3. Don’t date Adam. Date John if you want, but nothing beyond kissy-face. Rusty is too damaged, so avoid. Joe and Matt will make better friends than boyfriends, so don’t go there, either.
4. Go on one date (defined as a kiss at the end) with Bill and one date with Michael when you first get to college. They will be your best guy friends for life, but you will always slightly regret never having the opportunity to kiss them romantically ONCE!
5. Every emotion and thought is magnified a hundred fold because you are a teen and you will have a heart-wrenching year. It’s okay, just chill. Your brain and heart will settle down.
6. Major in psychology and get that minor in literature. You’ll regret not going for that minor for the heck of it.
7. You are not cut out to be a counselor. You are too damaged and too empathetic. The damage will heal, but you are still too kind. That’s okay.
8. Find your cousin Edna and move in with her NOW. You love your sister but she’s too young to deal with you and you’re both too damaged to live with each other.
9. It’s all good, all the time. All the time, it’s all good, because - God is good all the time, and all the time God is good. Even when it completely sucks ass.
10. Don’t try to date Jason. In a few years he’s going to figure out he’s gay.
not as we know it,
