My sister called me last weekend to tell me that my mom had a stroke, but that the real problem was her sodium and potassium were so low that she had to be in critical care. They are in Indiana many hours away.
I called back for an update, she called and left a message. Mild stroke, but otherwise no change.
I called back Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday... she didn't call back.
On Thursday, my mom called to say that she had been out of the hospital since Monday and staying at my sister's house until mom felt a bit more steady. Mom was at her own home now.
(I probably have the days wrong, but not the duration.)
I don't even know what to say or think or feel. I'm so beyond pissed.
