So, well, yes, I did just watch the entire thing over the course of two days. It's only 7 episodes.

But I feel the need to write out this weird thing I noticed to see if it goes anywhere beyond the surface. Bletchley Circle's circle, and maybe a little more, are based on Narnia.

1) Main character, Susan, sober, trying to fit in and live the life she was promised
2) The little one of the group, Lucy, the most emotional and least experienced, granted extraordinary power
3) The eldest of the group, Jean (names start breaking down here; I suppose Petra's not a terribly British name), very serious, always trying to look out for everyone
4) The mischievous one, Millie (EdMond -> Millie?), total disregard for the rules, overconfident, but good at heart
5) Setting, Britain, four people "orphaned" (socially unmoored) by the events of WWII, left with a secret that binds them together in ways other people can't understand
6) Season 1 villain "white witch" lures victims with illicit luxury items, trying to find and keep an eternal state of death and darkness
7) Magic wardrobe => secret vanity mirror? Certainly parallel to huts in the innocuous Bletchley campus in season 2
8) Susan grows up and leaves the group
9) Someone is punished for her love of lipstick and nylons

There are probably more, and 6 and 7 are a little weak, but given the rest... Yeah, I feel fairly confident that at least the main four characters were intentionally constructed this way. Not sure where Alice fits in; no obvious tie to Eustace, for instance. At least, not that I noticed.
