all those yummy Starbucks samples recently sent to us for the new promo came back to haunt me I guess. Not overindulging again for a VERY long time. Working through the pain is just not worth those extra cookies. heh

Went to a BBQ/Poker Night at Don, Isaiah, Ven and Soy's new place last night. I WON the first pot!! 30 bucks! I discovered it's WAY easier to play Texas Hold Em' sober. It helped that Soy doesn't drink, ever. She's allergic.

Today...
Watched some Mighty Boosh, made Fam Breakfast, opened presents! I was spoiled this year! Got a beautiful metal Jade colored watering can, a Starry Night Van Gogh Puzzle (which I'll put together with the kids) and the largest Greenhouse yankee candle they make!
Called all 4 of my Mother's. Got to chat with 2 of them.
Put on my work clothes (ratty low rise jeans, sports bra, wife beater & wellies) mowed and weeded and helped The Fam clean the gutters. We were impressed with Jade. She shimmied right up the ladder onto the roof and swept the moss off most of the day, without complaint. Michael and I both giggled that "she's got some Pearson girl in her afterall". Hard Physical Labor Loving Farm Girls, the lot of us. lol
Made Falafel for dinner! More work in the yard and now...
I'm freshly showered and anxious to snuggle in my aching muscles with a cup a tea and Spin a Wicked Web by Cricket McRae.
It's really the perfect book for me!
She's managed to combine Crafting, Gardening, Cooking and Murder all in the same story AND it takes place right here locally! A great read!

good book, in the garden, mother's day
