Franklin Institute!
So, it would only be a temp position from now until January, but it would be an extra 5-19 hours on top of the 10 hours I get at the library. I just sent in my application and I hope I get it. I am praying to Allah for his blessings and guidance. This is what I'd be doing:
CASHIER LEVEL I (ADMISSIONS SALES AND SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE I)
Unscheduled part time, 5-19 hours per week, including weekend, day, holiday and evening shifts. TEMPORARY THROUGH JANUARY 2011.
Minimum Qualifications: High school education; excellent cash handling skills; superior customer service and communication skills; computer and retail or ticketing experience preferred.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Operate POS or ticketing system to process visitor transactions; answer visitor inquiries and provide service to all museum visitors; handle cash and other forms of payment in a secure, orderly, and efficient manner; address visitor concerns to the best of ability; ensure involvement of supervisor or manager if needed to satisfy visitor needs; balance daily drawer total to within acceptable variance level; assist in daily maintenance of work environment, including stocking, organizing, inventorying, and other upkeep, to ensure an attractive and efficient appearance of workspace; attend all museum orientation and training programs; assist in Admissions or Retail during peak traffic periods, as directed by supervisor; become skilled in suggestive selling of museum memberships, merchandise, and programs; promote repeat visitation; attend museum theater shows, demonstrations, and events, and tour exhibit spaces; perform basic clerical duties as assigned, such as data entry, filing, and copying; work with supervisor to ensure that visitors, intentionally or unintentionally, do not receive more goods or services than what was purchased.
Today has been 8 years since I've been a member of Deadjournal. I can't believe it. I go back to work tomorrow, then Wednesday going to VA for 3 days without internet. ^^
