Marilyn Manson and TurboNegro at Birmingham NEC.

Marilyn Manson..

Rock fucking God that he is.

Master of Macabre that he always will be...

If I were a harp and if each string on that harp represented my instincts, my sexuality and the whole spectrum of my emotions, then Marilyn Manson is the man capable of plucking those strings until it hurts and until his fingers fucking bleed.

Ok.. it's true I have an insatiable appetite for rock stars and have always gravitated towards 'The Dark Side' so I'm very possibly, nay probably, biased but seriously people, you wanna see a good show? You could do a whole lot worse than checking out the Manson.

By the time he decided to lift the black curtain and grace us with his presence, the crowd was already a seething mass, hungry for a slice of whatever Manson had to offer.

And what succulent and delicious offerings he served up! Every syllable of every word of every song was dripping with with the juice of forbidden pleasure.

Apologies. There I go again. Forgive me, it's hard to contain myself..

Manson makes noises that equate to the most intense orgasm imaginable.

Open your minds and embrace the dark side, people! Just remember to bring the make up and glitter!

Turbonegro opened up for him, admittedly a band that I hadn't previously listened to but I was pleasantly surprised.  The solid beats and slight repetitive riffs of Sell your Body to the Night and Do You Dig Destruction put me in mind of the eighties hair metal sound which of course I can always appreciate being thirty three and all.  Think 1985, Bowling for Soup. Yep that's me with one adjustment, while I may still enjoy the hair/glam metal of the 80's, bands like Poison, Skid Row, Guns n Roses, Bon Jovi, Dave Lee Roth etc, I still manage to accept newer bands into my audio library and appreciate them. All genres, all eras,  music is there to be adored and I do, with a passion.

Manson gigs always have a wonderful atmosphere.. yes there is the fact that we are all there for the same purpose, there is a certain unity but that feeling comes with most gigs. There's more to it than that, I feel that this is somewhere I fit. I feel accepted and embraced as one as the following and not only that, it's wonderful to observe all the dedicated Mansonites dressed to the nines in their wondrous goth garb. PVC, big boots, piercings and hair colour galore!
Just my kind of thing. :)

When the gig was done and the crowd slowly poured out of the venue as we remained stationary and watching.. I heard a Hello from behind, I turned and there was the smiling face of a fellow LiveJournaller, daemons_goddess! What a perfect finish to a wonderful day!

Suffice to say, myself and my two best friends in the world had the most fabulously rockin' time evah!

Marilyn Manson... We Salute You!

Addendum: To those chicks screaming "MANSON, WE LOVE YOU!" from behind me...
Guess what, girls... I could love him better. *smiles*
