So the other morning I get a call from a friend.
"We've got a spare ticket and an extra seat in the car, wanna come to a gig with us?"
"Fuck yeah!" says me. " Who are we seeing and where are we seeing them?"
It turns out to be The Bloodhound Gang, Bowling for Soup, Zebrahead and Army of Freshmen. Woo! Nothing better than little modern punk/pop to brighten my day and holy spunkmonkeys, Batman.. it did need brightening.
I dunno what the fuck it is with me lately, I have nothing to feel miserable about yet I can't shake that feeling or should I say non feeling in my gut. Y'know that kind of emptiness that comes and goes in waves every now and then and can only be described as blah or meh?
So the gig last night was what I needed to get me out of my funk. How was the gig?
Well I can't say it was the best I've been to but yeah it was pretty 'slammin'.
Zebrahead started out with some impressive noise, followed by Freshmen, who actually kinda sucked giant donkey dick. Heh 3 outta 4 ain't bad, right?
Bloodhound Gang were fucking amazing! Full of the filth and low down dirtiness we have all come to expect from them. Evil Jared standing out a mile as the ringleader imbibed alcohol to the resounding calls of CHUG CHUG CHUG until he puked. I missed the puking part from what I was told it was pretty impressive and projectile. He also got his wang out at one point which I also missed. Damn me for people watching! There were just too many hot guys around with liberty spikes and giant mohawks to look at!
Bowling for Soup put on an awesome show too. I was mighty impressed. They played all the 'oldies' as I had hoped along with their new single and finished up with a rather fabulous rendition of Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire.
So yeah.. all in all frickin' excellent!
Any more observations?
My ears hurt and mosh pits scare me.
