I totally agree... violentnick June 25 2008, 12:28:42 UTC
It probably is largely due to the amont of shepherd type dogs that're out there. But it doesn't change the fact that they're known biters... Not always angrily, but biters none the less. It's something you need to train out of them. Rocco & I met this very young & obviously inexperienced couple at petsmart, with some exotic breed of German Shepherd (what're there like 12 now?). It was a puppy, younger but larger than Rocco was. It was a real instigator though. Rocco never saw it as anything more than play, but another type of dog might've yelped & ran away. Add to the equation that the li'l metal head dude had named his dog 'Aries' & I just KNEW this thing'd grow up to be trouble. Fast forward a few months later. We meet them again at the dog park & everyone's pretty much full sized. Aries is a lot bigger than Rocco & totally aggressive. Rocco's usually the submissive dog at the park, but when it's play time, he doesn't get dominated. Period. He's too fast, athletc & strong. Smart too, a total escape artist. Aries didn't like that & repeatedly tried to full on chomp him. A shepherd's bite is among the worst, due to length of jaw, size of teeth & an uncanny snapping power. Way worse than an APBT. The kid was embarrassed but more so just looked tired & beat down. He'd obviously been through the wringer with this dog. Aries was already fixed at this point, in an attempt to quell his aggression. Obviously that doesn't work like people think. I get the feeling metal head boy paid top dollar for that dog too. Oh well, he is REALLY fluffy though. Lol
Before you hop behind the wheel of a monster truck, you'd better learn some good basic driving skills.
