IT'S FUCKING SLAYER!!

I just copy and pasted this from my review on SFU, so if you know what that is then you've probably already read this. If not, read on..

Ok, here's how my day went. I left out with my homeboy Mark about noon today to go to this concert. When we got to the parking lot, the first person he sees is a guy he went to truck driving school with, when he went like a month ago...but this guy got kicked outta the school for smoking weed, but anyway they were surprised as hell to see each other, and this guy and his friends hung with us all day mostly.

First funny tidbit: We went to the willcall line to pick up tickets, and this band on some small ass bacardi stage that was set up started rockin out. They hadn't even started letting people in yet. They were just rockin out....so once people start coming in, i look thru the gate at Willcall and see like 1 long haired metalhead standing there at the stage headbanging his heart out. It's so funny to see a band playing while ONE LONELY GUY is out there throwin up his devil horns.

Halfway thru their set. The lead singer does his mandatory metal speech about what the next song means. It went a little something like this...

THIS NEXT SONG...IS ABOUT WHAT WE SHOULD HAVE BECOME, AND WHAT WE ENDED UP BECOMING.....ITS CALLED....GOD FAGGET!!!!

I laughed my ass off...those guys sucked.

After that "band" left the stage, the girls of the pink pony (atl strip club) did a little number on stage and that was cool. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

Now for the bands and my impressions:

Thine Eyes Bleeding...(i think that was their name)...SUCKED. It wasn't music, it was noise, and lots of it at high volumes. I smoked cigarettes and just talked to Mark and his trucker buddy thru this band

Children of Bodom - Decent. They actually rocked, and it don't even matter that they claim Finland. I think it's kinda generic that death metal bands have to claim those countries like BALTHAZZAR! but whatever...the keyboard was kinda catchy sometimes lol, if you're into that shit

Mastadon - ATL's own.... the best part about their set was the fact that their whole family was backstage all rockin out and one of their grandmothers ended up coming out on stage and flashin some mean devil horns. That got a grandma chant started. She seemed to be having fun. As far as the music, i've never heard'em...only of 'em....i didn't like 'em that much. I don't think they have tempo whatsoever in their music. It constantly changed and it was irritating. I'll probably never give these guys a shot on cd. BORING!

Lamb of God - ruled of course. I saw these guys play with slipknot awhile back, and I like them. Mark is more into 'em than I am. I mostly recognize songs because he knows alot of their songs on guitar. Something to die for is a great song

and last but not least....FUCKING SLAYER! First of all, I expected to be laughing alot during their set, becasue the idea of grown men all claiming the pentagram is funny to me. I mean, sure we all drew 'em on out desk in highschool, but c'mon...no way I can take this seriously. Everything from their stage set, to the music, to the fans around me pretty much picked me up and bodyslammed me on the ground. It OWNED...I lost my fuckin mind when they played seasons in the abyss. Where we were sitting/standing, there was a little open area before you went down to the good seats, and somehow or another a pit started ...for about 20 seconds or so until i got my phone punched out of my hand...then i retreated like a bitch

I enjoyed the hell out of slayer tonight. I am still not convinced that I could download their albums and listen to 'em in the car, but man their live show was great. I slung my head around until i got dizzy and almost fell down...several times. They also had a pretty cool video thingy on screen going on while the music played. There was always something cool as hell to look at

lastly, i want to throw this in. I'm so glad that giving dimebag darryl a plug at the show didn't turn out to be a month old fad. Before slayer came on stage, they played pantera over the PA and the screen behind stage had a picture of him up. It was cool as hell

final thoughts: I am home from the show and im still not worthy, slayer kicked my ass. yes...THEY WHAIL'D!!!

awesome show, im so glad i got talked into going, since i just got invited last night at like 2 in the morning

if any of you are planning on going to this, you're in for a treat....slayer/lamb of god....get there late. the other guys blow
