Background info on your character: Shizuo was born into a normal family -- mother (presumably), father (presumably), and a younger brother named Kasuka. There was no trauma in his childhood, nothing out of the usual that should have caused anything odd to happen.
Despite this, one day Shizuo got angry at his little brother and tried to crush him with the refrigerator.
He could tell you why. By his own admission, he snapped over something stupid (Kasuka had eaten the yogurt that Shizuo had very clearly marked as his) and suddenly decided that the only course of action was to pick up the fridge and throw it. He hadn't expected himself to be able to, but he managed it! It would have been very impressive, but...
Well, Shizuo might have suddenly developed super strength, but the endurance to match didn't come with it. He was only a kid when this happen and his body couldn't take the strain of picking up a full-sized refrigerator. He wound up hospitalized, and from that day forward, even the slightest annoyance made Shizuo completely flip out. A pair of kids making fun of him in class? That merited him throwing his desk at the pair. A pair of jerks on a motorcycle pissed him off? Of course he's going to kick the motorcycle and send both it and them flying. His annoyed classmate and sort of friend geeking out over his super strength? Fortunately Shizuo didn't hurt the friend, who was named Shinra, but he did get a very painful grip on the kid's arm.
Every time Shizuo got angry the anger took control of him and drove him towards incredible violence -- he couldn't stop himself no matter how hard he tried. Eventually, he stopped even trying. Every time he got angry, he pushed himself beyond the limits of his body and shattered more of his bones. Every time he broke his bones he got stronger... which only made him more and more capable of performing incredible feats of strength that only broke more of his bones, which in turn just made him even stronger.
One day, a woman that owned a local bakery finally stopped Shizuo and Kasuka as they walked home from school. She'd taken note of Shizuo's constantly battered state and presented both he and his little brother with bottles of milk, stating that they needed it so that their bones would be strong, and less prone to breaking. Drinking milk seemed to do the trick, because as long as he remembered to Shizuo seemed to stop being injured by his own strength. The woman was kind to Shizuo, apparently one of the few people that had been. Understandably, when he was walking past her shop only a few days after he had first met her and saw her being harassed by a group of thugs he got... irritated. It didn't take long for Shizuo to reduce the woman's attackers to broken heaps on the ground. It's just that in the process of doing that, he destroyed the bakery as well.
Unfortunately, the woman that owned the bakery was injured almost as badly as everyone else present. Shizuo was so ashamed of himself he never saw her again.
Eventually he enrolled in a local school called Raira Academy, and it was then that he reunited with his friend from elementary: Shinra. It was also then that he met Celty, a headless Gaelic fairy that rode of motorcycle.
