Don't scream.
You're in darkness, you don't know where you are but please, for the love of God- don't scream.
A hand slide over your face, stopping you from screaming. Your heat beats loudly in your ears and you can feel your own pulse in your neck thrumming, begging you to scream, but please don't, not yet. The world's silent, you can't hear what's going on, but you can smell something putrid. Your eyes look next to you and you almost scream.
Glassy eyes look up at you, a film seems to be over them, drained them all of colour. The mouth is parted in a scream and worms are crawling in it. You're heart beats faster, your skin feels like it's crawling, alive with worms beneath it. You're afraid of your own hair brushing against your back and the hand on your mouth is still there.
Don't scream, not yet, please. You'll die if you scream.
A face comes in to view next to you, their hair is plastered to their skin with sweat that runs down their body. They're as scared as you-b ut you wouldn't believe that by how calm their face is.
She doesn't speak, but she looks at you and pressed a finger to her lips. You nod and she releases her hand. When she stands up you grab her hand. You're afraid- terrified to the point where your hearts about to give up. She looks down at you, not with pity or disgust, but with empathy.
For the first time you share something.
You could almost smile but instead you cry silently. She doesn't care. She's been crying too, you just haven't seen it yet.
