very interesting (...or depressing?)

so there are several websites i enjoy, one of which is www.hollabacknyc.com where women in nyc post about disgusting worthless men who yell lewd comments to, hit (or ejaculate) on, and/or touch inappropriately on the subway (eww), walking down he street, etc. it's totally vile, but i've run into enough of these men (thankfully not literally!) to appreciate their internet 'outing', so to speak. gotz to love cellphone photo technology! take a look, but prepare to lose some faith in human kind. my last encounter with this type of guy was these two losers on the subway taking cell pix down girls' shirts. cleavage shots. i mean, granted, there was some magnificent cleavage on that train, but at least wait until the next stop to giggle over it with your friend on a fairly full train where at least 3 people can see your cell screen as you scroll through the pictures and sound like jackasses. at some point i moved a bit away from them and very obviously took a cell pic nicely framing both their faces (while they were giggling at the phone pix!!) they totally saw me (i am also very graceful and dropped my mp3 player at the same moment) and it definitely freaked them out. what can i say...turnabout is fair play! they got off of that train STAT at the next stop and then seemed to be looking for me (i had already moved off). yeah, perhaps stupid to antagonize neaderthals like those but there were tons of people around and they didn't look threatening, just stupid. i rode off on my way laughing to myself and i've been meaning to send their pic to hollaback for a while if only with the hope of embarrassing them. but i'm not sure how to get pix off my phone! ah well. aaanyway....

i remembered about this site again today (these kind of sites always drift in and out of my consciousness on a semi-yearly basis and then i forget about them for a while) and found quite an interesting link to an article about construction workers lining up on a city street and rating women with cards marked 1-10 as they walk by. yes, this seriously happens. they have olympic judge aspirations apparently. the best part though are the comments! (#65 is perhaps my favorite) make sure to read down, and report back. it's quite the battle of thoughts/words/etc.

very interested to hear your thoughts!
