Eff Everything

This entry comes to you from Iowa, home of corn, pigs and a whole lotta soybeans. I'm here on a vacation of sorts from St. Louis, but as I sit here, I desperately miss the Lou and almost everyone in it. Hell, I miss pager duty. I know what you're thinking: "Chris, what could possibly be troubling you so much that you miss pager duty?" Well, let me do my best to explain.

My parents got a big surprise that I wasn't quite ready for them to hear. Things are tense, and my mom is more agitated then usual. She doesn't seem to understand why I'm so upset that she's been snooping around facebook and livejournal using some shady kids at her community college class that I went to high school with. I also don't understand why aforementioned shady kid is being so inconsiderate. I mean, they must realize that my mom doesn't have an "off" button so getting her wound up would cause immeasurable stress for me.

Iowa is a boring, ignorant state. Some people are cool, but most of the people that I try to hang out with are busy with lame excuses, or makes plans and then cancel at the last minute. I miss the CA's, I miss my summer school friends, I miss that housekeeper with the funny teeth that always says hi to me. I don't miss the van however, my CRV handles much better.

This might seem a little sad, but I miss giving tours, my spanish class and even bumming around the office from my typical (2-7) shift. On another note, shoutout to Christine, hope you get better.

Well, let me update you to other things that have been happening.
I broke down and saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Johnny Depp. I went in there fully prepared to think it would be worse than the original, but I left in higher spirits then I'd had all week. It was probably my favorite movie of the summer so far (including Batman Begins, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, War of the Worlds and the incomparable Fantastic Four). Johnny Depp really surprised me because I thought he looked retarded in the previews but was actually really enjoyable in the film. I highly recommend giving this movie a shot.
I bought a new shirt, that was fun. I got crap from my parents from spending money.
I had fried oysters at the Waterfront and that was nice.

Well, that's probably about it. I fear sometime soon (perhaps even this one) I will write my last lj post to protect myself. Maybe I'll even drop off facebook. We'll see.

Hasta luego,
Chris
