For alice_and_lain: A teaser for upcoming episodes of Percy Weasley: Rogue Demon Hunter, featuring Weasleys, fathers and sons, and explosions. ^_^

'I'm an only child,' she said, smiling slightly. Percy laughed, 'Lucky you.' )

“Rather conspicuous, aren’t they?”

“It’s their forte,” Percy said dryly, trying to keep from looking in their direction.

Hee! I'm so looking forward to these.

"That is completely absurd. I've never heard anything so stupid! Parents don't just abandon their children when they make mistakes. All children make mistakes. That's what they do!"

Unexpectedly, Percy began to laugh. "You looked like Ginny just then. I thought you might end by stamping your little feet or throwing a lamp across the room."

Oh, beautiful. Well done. Makes quite a bit of sense for Percy to be so unforgiving of himself, that he's not even willing to really consider the possibility of others forgiving him. And really? Both sides have got to do forgiving, because I can imagine that Percy wasn't the only one saying nasty things during the fight.

He pointed an accusatory finger at Percy, and then the building exploded behind them.

WOO! Unless the explosion has nothing to do with the twins or Percy, in which case, ACK!

I am quite looking forward to this.

Percy has a nice, healthy streak of self-hatred going. I think it's part of the reason he's so hard on other people as well as himself, which will be interesting given where his part of the plot is going to go in Eps. 9-10.

Both sides have got to do forgiving, because I can imagine that Percy wasn't the only one saying nasty things during the fight.

Oh, absolutely. That was one thing that made me go, "Huh?" in OotP -- the fact that not even the Weasley parents appeared to understand why Percy was upset. Uh, guys? You push him to suceed for years and then, when he does? You tell him it's all a big lie and that he's a bad guy for not seeing that immediately. So, yeah, both sides are totally in the wrong.

"Nothing is ever so broken that it can't be fixed, Arthur," Kingsley said. "Not with families. Not if even one of you is still willing to try."

Squeeing, because this is the only bit with Kingsley in it. ^_^

Also, I can definitely see Percy being the one who won't forgive himself. It's always so much easier to forgive someone else than yourself -- not to mention how hard it is to accept forgiveness sometimes!

One of the most interesting bits of the Angel universe is the idea of blood families vs. chosen families. That element is already explored in HP a little bit with Harry, and I'm definitely going to play with it with Percy, too. What happens when you can't make your peace with your blood relatives? I.e., Percy and (most of) the Weasleys. What happens when your 'chosen' family betrays you and you can't forgive them, either? I.e., Harry and Dumbledore (and most of the other adults in his life, actually). I'm pretty excited about the potential plots there. ^_^
