19 - When you have bunnies, do you sit down and start writing right away, or do you write down the idea for further use?
I often get ideas while I'm doing something else - like, just for example, running or driving to work - so generally I'll jot down the gist or a quick scene or something as soon as I'm able and then table it until I can look at it again and decide if I want to do anything with it.
20 - Do you ever get bunnied from other people's stories or art in the same fandom?
'Bunnied?' I'll admit to having nicknamed one particular story idea 'Bunnicula' back in the day, but that's just beyond the pale...
So, the answer to this is 'not usually.' That said, there are times where I'll see a type of story that almost but not quite works for me in a particular way (a character's backstory or an AU or a particular pairing) and go, “Oh, I like what they did there, but...” Sometimes I'll actually wind up writing something with my own spin on it, sometimes (most times) not - but it does make me think, and sometimes winds up as inspiration.
21 - Sequels - Have you ever written a sequel to a fic you wrote, and if so, why, and if not, how do you feel about sequels?
Yes, I have but they are the exception not the rule. Dreamwalk Blue wound up with a sequel, but that was because I eventually needed to walk away from that trainwreck of an ending - but I still wanted to provide some resolution for the characters. The Geek Rock Series was designed with the potential to continue that story through another couple 'arcs,' which I'd love to do, assuming I can actually ever finish the first one.
22 - Have you ever participated in a fest or a Big Bang? If so, write about your favorite experience in relation to one. If not, are there any you've thought about doing? And if not, why not?
Not for a long time - but that does make me nostalgic for the Behind Every Good Woman challenge from way back. This is a great segue, though, into...
womenlovefest How much do I love this idea? A lot, like a whole lot. I am seriously pressed for time right now -- we are going to be at a wedding this weekend, have our own wedding anniversary and then will be traveling part of next week -- but I'm still going to try my hardest to talk at least a bit about some of my favorite female characters who don't get enough love. So awesome.
