I'm so pleased that you're liking the new Who - I'm head-over-heels in love with it, of course, so seeing it spread is great. I love the old stuff now too - I think you just sort of have to get it, eventually - but you can't go wrong with sticking with new canon at least. (Though Sci-Fi's apparently editing little bits out. Argh!) (Oh, and if the old thing you watched was Americanized, it might have been the TV movie...which was like crack and crap at the same time. The real old skool stuff is way better. I'm completely in love with the First and Second Doctors, but we're talking b&w and really wobbly sets, heh).

Well, now I'm rambling about Who, since the new season starts in nine days and I'm overexcited. I remembered though that I promised you recs - so, here's a few that don't spoil you past Aliens of London (which is I believe where you're at?)

Elsewhen: a very sweet and interestingly written and structured Nine/Rose piece, that's got a lot of gen in it.

Lots of people wrote fics where the Doctor actually went travelling between the time he first asked Rose to come with him and when he came back; these two don't have spoilers: Flowers For The Doctor (really, really lovely) and She Loves You (which is just too unbelievably cute and has a terrible wonderful Beatles joke).

And one about a minor character: Once Upon a Time featuring Jabe (the tree!woman) from the second episode. I love this one, so much.

Right, that has to be a long enough comment by far. :)

You are totally my source for all things Dr. Who at this point. :) Thank you for the fic recs! And thank you for the Jabe fic. I thought she was a lovely character, and was sad to see that they weren't going to do more with her.

It seems like they're cutting all the cute Nine/Rose bits, mainly - woe. Not that those are the point of the show, but they're so lovely and fun. :)

No problem on the recs, I keep forgetting about it - I don't think I have anything for where you are now, but after the next episode I think there were a few good ones to recommend. Am glad to be of service for your Whovian needs, hee hee.

I think the Nine/Rose UST is managing to get through anyway. :) One of my friends who I pestered into watching the show was like, "Is there supposed to a little something-something going on there? Because if there is a) that's hot and b) daddy issues!" Which I thought was hilarious and true.

Thank you for the ongoing recs. They are most appreciated. I keep trying to surf different communities for the show and running away with my hands over my eyes from the spoilers.
