my words keep coming back to me, in shades of mediocrity

My back is kinda killing me today, so I'm making the decision not to clean Mike's office. I would, except that I have to work for almost 10 hours tonight. Hopefully, Bob will be nice enough to give me a break... he kinda has to by law. At least it's not a weekend, so we close at 10. Oh, and I have to get up and open tomorrow morning. Alright, I ( Read more... )

Okay, I totally agree - it has been entirely too long! In the span of a week since we last saw each other/talked, I got a laptop! Yes, between the savings my mom has been keeping all year and the money I got from my graduation party, I had enough money to buy a brand spankin' new MACBOOK PRO!!!! Aka, the most fantabulous computer in the history of time! It came yesterday (a mere 24 hours after it was shipped - from Shanghai China, believe it or not), and so of course I have been generally spazzing out. I am so deeply in love with and indebted to Apple/Steve Jobs right now. Isn't Starbucks a wireless hotspot? And they're literally right next door to you... hmm, sometime very soon I will have to come visit you, brandishing my new baby. :)

Enough gloating. I am totally down with your Spring Awakening obsession. Something about the summer - maybe the lack of other mental activity, or the free time to pursue new interests - always spurs obsession for me too. Last summer it was Drowsy Chaperone and cucumbers and Project Runway. This summer - already - it's Nelly Furtado's Loose, mahjohng (most addictive game ever), and of course, the new computer. And I have watched the Mary Poppins Tonys performance entirely too many times to be healthy. Our NYC trip is going to be fab. And I'll only be there for 3 days - look at you, living right outside of the city! I absolutely think you need to rush, do lottery, stage door, go jogging in hip Upper West Side neighborhoods, whatever - anything you can do to find Broadway peeps. I give you permission to stalk Jon Groff. In fact, I shall put a bounty upon his head! I dare you to take a picture with him and flaunt it ala Carolyn's Laura Bell Bundy pic! Everyone would be eternally jealous and in awe.

What book did you order from Borders? I've been trying to do the HPs so I can start getting other stuff from the library; I was going to start yesterday, and needless to say I've been a bit distracted since then.

Hope you're having fun at The Stone, or you're about to, and that your back feels better. We definitely need to do something fun soon. Can you believe June is half over? WTF? If I don't talk to you before Saturday, have an AMAZING time at orientation! It can be nerve wracking and annoying and exhausting at times, but overall, it is so freakin' fun. Go recruit some cool people to help you stalk Groff! ;)

business first... I've seen people go both ways with the theater, hell I've seen guys at BROADWAY shows at night in jeans. Then again, there's always those chicks who are ridiculously dressed in like homecoming dresses. So, as a rule of thumb I've usually gone more casual for matinees... but if the dress is more like a cocktail dress, you could also pull it off.

A girl that I work with, Chelsea, is good friends with Scott and just went to see him yesterday. She said the show was great and he did awesome, but I already knew that! My chances of going to see Oklahoma are looking pretty slim, but I'm going to talk to my mom again.

Congrats on your new baby! I'm so proud! lol I definitely need to see this computer, and yes starbucks has free wireless. Oh, and speaking of Project Runway, when does that baby start? I forgot how much I love that show.

Stalk Groff!! lol I think this weekend I'll pass out flyers for the Stalk Groff club. I've actually already tracked down a couple of Broadway fanatics. I'm like 20minutes away from any show I could imagine seeing... I need people who appreciate this! Except, I kinda want to stop JGJ (John Gallagher Jr.!), because his nerdy angst is adorable. Oh, and I'm sure this probably has never been said before, but Mary Poppins is going to kick ass! lol

Yep, I'll have to tell you all about orientation, and hopefully I'll get one of the HPs started during the car ride. Right now I'm a little sucked into Enders Game... that shit is amazing.
(Oh and give Scott an extra hug for me, and tell him I love him almost as much as Spring Awakening... which may be the highest level of affection for anyone at this point! lol)
ly lots
