Title: Annoying boyfriend
Pairing: AtoYuu
Rating: PG-13
Wordcount: 700-ish
Yuuta looked around the corner quickly. When he saw that no one was near he relaxed slightly, lifted his shopping bag and started moving towards his goal.
“Yuuta. Why are you sneaking around like a thief? You do remember that you happen to live here, don’t you?”
Yuuta sighed in annoyance. “Yes Keigo, I do remember that I live here. How could I forget it? After all, you emptied my apartment, put a note on my door telling me that all my stuff were at your place. You made me wait outside the gate for hours before letting me in!”
Atobe smirked. “I thought you needed some time to calm down, besides I needed some time to mesh our things together.”
“You threw most of my things away!”
“I can not help that your taste is very arguable. Did you really want to keep that armchair that looked like a half eaten polka.” Atobe shuddered dramatically in horror.
“It was a gift from my great aunt, it had um, a sentimental value…” Yuuta bit his lip to keep himself from smiling.
“Yes and I’m sure those horrible paintings also had a sentimental value for you. Even your brother covered his eyes every time he saw them.”
“Aniki’s eyes are always closed, but I’ll give you that even Tezuka made a face whenever he saw them. “ Yuuta grinned at Atobe and discretely moved his shopping bag behind his back so that hopefully his lover wouldn’t notice it.
“See I did humanity a favour by having them burnt. Yuuta, what’s in that bag? Is it my Christmas gift?” Atobe reached out with a hand for the bag and Yuuta swatted it. Hard.
“Ouch! How uncivilized.”
“Excuse me?” Yuuta put his hands on his hips. “You will have to wait until Christmas before opening your gifts just like everyone else. “ Yuuta shook his head and started walking. “I can’t believe it, I thought that living with my siblings was a pain when it came to gifts but you, you really take the prize. I mean, at least they considered defeat when the gifts were wrapped, but I have to lock them up and -“
Atobe laughed. “But Yuuta, you always give me such wonderful gifts and that’s why it is so hard for me to wait.”
Yuuta snorted but a small blush was making itself known on his cheeks. “You liar! You’re just curious. Curiosity killed the cat you know.”
Yuuta was just about to enter one of their living rooms when Atobe stopped him.
“Huh? What?” Yuuta asked suspiciously when he saw Atobe’s mischievous smile.
Atobe pointed upwards. “Mistletoe, love.”
Yuuta’s eyes widened. “Oh.”
“Exactly.” Atobe smiled at the shorter man and gently pulled him towards himself. “Yuuta the day you moved in with me, you made me the happiest man on earth.”
“It wasn’t like you gave me a choice.” Yuuta grumbled but he dropped his shopping bag and put his arms around Atobe.
“Ah, but if you really would not have wanted to I would have moved everything back.” Atobe tightened his grip involuntarily around Yuuta.
Yuuta looked up into Atobe’s eyes. “I don’t regret a thing Keigo, I love you and I love living with you.” Yuuta pursed his lips. “Although we do need to have a serious discussion about the curtains in the third guestroom.”
“There is nothing wrong with them.” Atobe looked a bit insulted.
“They are pink with flowers on them.”
“The colour is cerise and-“
As soon as Yuuta’s lips met Atobe’s, Atobe forgot what he was arguing about and he didn’t care for several minutes. Kissing Yuuta was one of his favourite activities and something Atobe would love to do all day long. Sadly his cell phone rang and the ring tone told him it was an important business partner that was calling. Regretfully he gave Yuuta a last kiss before answering the phone.
Yuuta sighed and gently rubbed his slightly swollen lips. Kissing Atobe was always a pleasure. While Atobe was busy with his phone call Yuuta once again grabbed his shopping bag, this time he would hopefully be able to wrap the gift up and find a good hiding place before Atobe came looking for him again.
Title: Some preparations before Christmas
Pairing: Akame
Rating: PG-13
Wordcount: 1600-ish
Genre: Akanishi-Kamenashi household Au
Summary: Akira and Jin, is that really a good combination Ran-chan?
Kazuya looked thoughtful at the newly decorated Christmas tree that was standing in the living room. It wasn’t that he had any real complaints about it, but he really wasn’t sure about the toy koala and the poodle that were part of the decoration. Kazuya pursed his lips, Akira and Jin should get applauded for managing to put up that old and ugly pot, to bad that he would have to take it down. Kazuya shook his head, the plush toys he could cope with, but not the pot.
“Your dad and brother are dorks, Yuuko.” He told his two year old daughter. “Do they honestly think that a pot, and an ugly one it is, really should be adorning a Christmas tree?”
He sat Yuuko down on the floor, pulled up a chair and stepped up on it. Kazuya reached towards the pot and plucked it down and then he jumped down onto the floor and made a silly pose for Yuuko who giggled happily at him.
Kazuya was just about to put the ugly thing down when he saw that there was a paper lying in it, curiously he picked it up. It was a note and the message was written in Akira’s messy handwriting.
‘Dad, I knew you would take it down! I just won ten dollars of Pa. Thanks! Love Akira.’
Kazuya laughed, their son the gambler. “Yuuko-chan, your brother is a menace. I’m going to get the presents now. Do you want to help me put them under the tree?” He held out his hand and the toddler stood up and grabbed it.
“Yuu-chan help too.” She nodded and pulled him towards the closet, the not so very secret hiding place, where Kazuya and Jin hid Christmas and birthday gifts.
Jin and Akira had locked themselves up in Jin’s study with the Christmas gifts they had bought. It was time to wrap the gifts up and Jin and Akira had meticulously planned the whole thing. Together they had bought new and shiny wrapping paper. Akira had chosen a pink coloured one with small kittens wearing a Santa Claus hat while Jin had picked out a green wrapping paper with orange teddy bears on it.
Jin and Akira were both very happy with their purchases, and they had also bought plenty of colourful strings, to be more precise, a whole bag of colourful strings.
“Pa.” Jin looked down at his son.
“I think we need to practise before we start wrapping the gifts, don’t you think?”
Jin nodded gravely. “You’re right, we don’t want a repeat of last year.”
Akira made a face. “That was a disaster.” Jin grinned widely.
“You know what we need?”
Akira wrinkled his brow.
“A Yuuko-chan proofed wrapping!”
The two of them grinned at each other and like a pair of real men they high-fived each other.
“But pa, how will we do it? I mean we need to practise on something.”
“We could just try wrapping the gifts until we’re satisfied. We have enough of wrapping material to do that.”
Akira shook his head. “No, I want them to look nice. We need something difficult to practise on first.” The two looked thoughtful at each other and right at that moment Ran-chan decided to walk in on them.
Jin and Akira looked at the kaninchen dachshund, looked at each other, looked at the poor innocent dog, looked at each other and grinned.
“AKANISHI JIN! AKANISHI-KAMENASHI AKIRA! WHAT HAVE YOU TWO DONE TO MY RAN-CHAN? NO! DON’T YOU DARE LOCK YOURSELF IN THERE! OPEN THIS DOOR! NOW!”
Jin and Akira hid under the desk in Jin’s study while Kazuya was busy banging on the door with his right arm and holding his wrapped up dog in the other.
“I guess that dad isn’t very happy over what we did to Ran.” Akira said in a serious tone.
“Akira, I think that is an understatement.” Jin winced when Kazuya banged extra hard on the poor door, sometimes Jin wished that Kazuya never had taken boxing lessons.
“You know, we probably should have taken the wrappers off Ran.” Akira said with all the insightfulness of a nine year old.
“I guess you’re right but it isn’t our fault that she decided to run away before we had the chance to do that.”
Akira pursed his lips. “We shouldn’t have used the neon-coloured strings, I don’t think she liked them, she was fine with the pink ones.”
“Akira.” Jin said his son’s name in a very pained voice. Kazuya loved that dog, sometimes Jin thought he might even love her more than his family.
Akira nodded. “Don’t worry pa. I’ll solve this.”
“You will?”
“Uhu.” With that Akira crawled out from underneath the desk and unlocked to door and let in a very annoyed Kamenashi Kazuya who was carrying a multicoloured wrapped up unhappy kaninchen dachshund.
Akira pointed to where Jin was hiding under the desk. “It was his idea!”
“Traitor!” Jin muttered from underneath the desk.
Kazuya who stood holding his longsuffering dog on one arm took one look at what had once been Jin’s study. Pieces of colourful strings, wrapping papers and scotch tape were everywhere plus a pile of wrapped up Christmas gifts. Kazuya took one look at Jin and Akira. They were covered in left over pieces of paper, multi coloured strings and scotch tape. Jin and Akira had even managed to get it into their hair, Kazuya looked down at his dog, at his son and partner and started laughing.
“Well at least you’re all matching.” Kazuya put his dog down, ruffled Akira’s hair and knelt down in front of the desk so his eyes were at the same level as Jin.
“You look absolutely adorable.” Kazuya grinned. “You have something in your hair by the way, allow me.”
Kazuya reached out and with a fast movement he ripped off a piece of scotch tape that had been stuck on Jin’s hair.
“OUCH!!! That hurt! Kazuya!” Jin whimpered and held his hand against his skull.
“I’m sure it did. Now why don’t you and Akira tidy up your mess in here before dinner? I made your favourite.”
Jin looked up. “Really?”
“Really.” Kazuya dragged Jin out from the desk. Looking at Jin’s sheepish expression Kazuya couldn’t help himself and gave his lover a hug and a kiss. Jin responded by deepening the kiss. Kazuya had kissed a lot of people in his time, both before he and Jin had become a couple and afterwards too. Kissing was after all something that was part of an actor’s normal activity, but no one kissed like Jin, and if there was something Kazuya never wanted to be without it was Jin’s kisses.
“That’s so gross!” Akira made some gagging noises.
Jin gave Kazuya a last kiss before reluctantly releasing him. Before turning towards his dramatically retching son they silently promised each other a night of adults only activities.
“You little tattle tale! Wait until I get my hands on you!”
Kazuya watched in amusement as Jin chased after Akira. Hopefully they wouldn’t wake up Yuuko but he wouldn’t bet on it. Kazuya looked around and realized that Ran had sneaked off, he sighed and straightened his shoulders. It was time to go find his dog and try to get back on her good side.
Kazuya was standing on all fours beside his and Jin’s bed. His still wrapped up dog was lying against the wall and was pointedly ignoring his calls for her to come out.
“Come on Ran-chan, you don’t want to look like that for the rest of the evening, do you? I won’t let Jin and Akira wrap you up again. I promise.”
The dog gave him a look and then she turned around so that all Kazuya could see of her was her backside.
“Real mature, and you’re supposed to be a grand old lady by now. I’ve had enough of this. Ran come over here, right now.”
The only response he got was a huff.
“Ran, come on.” Kazuya decided to try wheedling.
“I’ll give you something yummy for dinner. I’ll even give you a piece of that chocolate that you love but aren’t supposed to eat.”
Kazuya groaned, why did he have such a stubborn dog?
“Ok, you win, I won’t force you to do yoga with me.”
Ran turned around and gave him a thoughtful gaze.
“And I’ll buy that ridiculously expensive dog shampoo that you like but I don’t.” Kazuya sat down.
“Take it or leave it, that’s my final offer.” Ran padded out from the bed and went to her owner. “You drive a hard bargain miss, now come on, let’s go to the kitchen and find us a pair of scissors.” Kazuya picked his most beloved and very spoiled pet up and together they headed for the kitchen and the rest of the family.
Nearing the kitchen he could hear children’s laughter and the noise of tableware being set down on the table. Kazuya opened the door and could see Jin setting the table while Yuuko and Akira were helping by fetching the plates and silverware for him.
Watching his family like this gave Kazuya a very warm and cosy feeling. Jin looked up and when he saw Kazuya standing in the doorway clutching Ran, he gave Kazuya one of those smiles that were only meant for him and him alone and reached out his hand towards him.
“Come on Kazu-chan, the dinner you made will get cold.”
Title: Shishido doesn't really like Christmas
Pairing: ToriShish
Characters: Shishido, Atobe, Choutarou
Rating: PG-13
Wordcount: 1400-ish
Summary: Shishido has some problems with Christmas....
Shishido pulled his hair in agitation. Damn it! He was being so lame! Shishido took a deep breath. It couldn’t be that hard to find the perfect Christmas gift to Choutarou, it just couldn’t! He had already gone through everything that Choutarou possibly could need for tennis but buying a new sweatband or grip tape just didn’t cut it.
Shishido growled, how hard could it be? Really, he knew a lot about Choutarou, so all he needed to do was to find a gift that would make him deliriously happy and that was it. Easy. Piece of cake. No problem. Not.
Shishido sighed and flung himself down onto the convenient bench that was standing on the sidewalk.
Christmas, how he loathed this holiday. His mother adored it and had an uncountable amount of small squishy Santa Clauses which she decorated the house with, not to mention reindeers and other stupid things. Shishido really couldn’t understand how his dad put up with all of it, or rather he could since his dad seemed to enjoy Christmas even more than his mother.
Christmas was one of the few times that Shishido and his brother actually felt like they could understand each other. Both of them shared horrible memories of their parents dressing them in red clothes and then dragging them around the neighbourhood forcing them to sing Christmas carols. Now if that wasn’t enough to scar a person for life the elderly people who had thought them oh so cute and had pinched their cheeks definitely would have made anyone flee for their sanity.
Shishido groaned. Of course Choutarou had to be one of these persons who adored Christmas and all what it entailed. Yesterday when Choutarou had insisted on visiting, alright so Shishido had asked him to come, Choutarou and his mother had bonded over a stuffed Santa Claus! The horror Shishido had felt when he realized that the younger boy loved Christmas and that he was going to have to spend time among all the maniacs who were rushing in and out of stores to buy things for the stupid holiday, made Shishido want to crawl into his bed and hibernate until spring.
Shishido took a deep breath and looked at the music store that he was standing in front of. Why were there so many people doing their Christmas shopping now? Why couldn’t they have done it on time so that he wouldn’t need to put up with their laziness?
Choutarou better like whatever it was he was going to buy him.
Atobe frowned and looked down at what he would have considered to be one half of his presently best doubles team and also one of his oldest friends. If Atobe didn’t know better he would say that there was a black cloud hovering over Shishido. After patiently waiting for over five minutes for Shishido to explain himself, Atobe had had enough.
“Are you just going to sit there or will you finally tell me what brings you to my home?”
The only reaction Atobe got was a miserable groan from the human shaped lump. Atobe rolled his eyes.
“Ryou stop being an idiot. I have other things to do than to wait for you to talk.”
Shishido mumbled something unintelligently.
“Excuse me, I didn’t catch that.”
“I said, Choutarou loves Christmas.” Shishido glared sullenly at Atobe.
“And?” Atobe raised his left eyebrow.
“And I still hate Christmas.” Shishido muttered.
“And?”
“There are too many people out shopping.”
“And?” Atobe felt a headache coming his way.
“It’s too crowded.”
“And?”
“I told you, it’s too crowded.”
“And?”
“What? Aren’t you listening?”
Atobe silently counted to ten. When he reached ten he decided to count to 15.
“Ryou, what is your point?”
“Idon’tknowwhattobuyChoutarouasaChristmasgiftandtherearetoomanypeopleoutshoppingandIwanttobuyhimtheperfectChristmasgift.” Shishido looked miserable after confessing his problem.
“Ryou-“
“I know, I’m so lame, but I really didn’t know that he loves this stupid holiday and now I need to find a brilliant gift for him and there are only a few days left and I don’t know what to do.”
Shishido took a deep breath.
“ I feel horrible, I’m supposed to be his senpai and his doubles partner, I should have known that he loves Christmas. Keigo, you knew, right? Why didn’t you tell me?” Shishido glared accusingly at Atobe.
“I need to find something that he likes and fast but I don’t want to buy him anything that has to do with tennis and well I just don’t know what else there is. I mean he loves music too, right? But it’s classical stuff.”
Atobe held out his hand to stop Shishido from talking anymore.
“If I’ll help you, will that get you out from my home and make you stop looking like an insane person?”
Shishido nodded and his eyes were suspiciously blank when he nodded. Atobe cleared his throat, getting sentimental was something neither of the two boys ever would admit to getting.
“Do you have any idea on what you’d like to get him?”
Shishido shook his head. “If I knew would I be here taking up your precious time?”
Atobe decided to let the snide remark go.
“Well” Shishido hesitantly said. “He mentioned that he enjoyed going to the opera but I have no idea what he would like to watch and I guess it’s to late to get a ticket for something during the holidays anyway.”
Atobe looked up and mentally went through what he knew about Choutarou’s interests when it came to music and without hesitation he grabbed his phone.
“- Yes, that will be all and a dinner reservation for two and yes put it on my account. A pleasure as always. Yes, thank you. Yes I’ll give your regards to mother. Goodbye.”
Atobe turned towards a curious looking Shishido.
“Your troubles are over and I can finally get some peace and quiet.” Atobe said with a smug expression.
“Huh?” Shishido looked perplexed.
“Didn’t you just listen to my conversation? I got you two tickets to Carmen and a dinner reservation at the opera house at the 28th.” Before Atobe knew it Shishido gave him a manly hug.
Atobe and Shishido both looked a bit embarrassed after the hug.
“So um, you know, thanks.” Shishido muttered.
“You’re welcome. Would you mind going home now or is there something else you need help with?”
“Nah, it’s fine.” Shishido got up. “Keigo, thank you, I mean it.”
Before Atobe could react Shishido had run off.
Shishido was nervous, he hadn’t been able to sleep. Today was the day that he would give Choutarou the tickets. What if Choutarou wouldn’t like it? What if he had been dead wrong and Choutarou would hate his idea of Christmas gift? Perhaps he should have just bought a CD or a DVD or a music sheet or a pair of mitts or-
“Shishido-san!” Choutarou reached him red-cheeked and with sparkling eyes. “I’m sorry I’m late but I promised my mother to buy some paper and there were so many people there.”
“That’s, that’s fine.” Shishido looked down and nervously kicked a small rock with his right foot. He reached inside his jacket and withdrew the envelope with the tickets and the dinner reservation.
Without looking at Choutarou he held the envelope out towards him. “Merry Christmas.” He muttered.
“Shishido-san!” Choutarou sounded so happy but Shishido was so embarrassed and anxious that he couldn’t look Choutarou in the eyes.
“I hope you’ll like it.” He grumbled to the ground.
Choutarou had taken the envelope and very carefully he opened it.
“Shishido-san! How did you get these tickets? I have never watched Carmen before but I’ve played plenty of songs from it.”
Shishido finally dared to look up, it didn’t sound like Choutarou would hate his Christmas gift. Shishido was met by Choutarou’s shining eyes and wonderful smile and something inside him just melted and he felt wonderful. Shishido hadn’t known that Choutarou’s smile could make him this happy.
“I got some help from Atobe, I hope that is ok?” He reluctantly admitted.
Before he knew it he was enveloped in Chotarou’s arms and awkwardly he hugged him back.
“It doesn’t matter that you got help, Shishido-san, I know it came from your heart and that is all that matters. Had you just given me a card I would have treasured it just as much.”
“Merry Christmas Choutarou.” Shishido mumbled into Choutarou’s neck.
“Merry Christmas Ryou.”
