(no subject)
so it's June. that officially means summer to me, which is nice, since I've already been home for a month. um....I've been working. Yummy delivers, how can I help you? lol it's a grocery store in west hollywood that delivers, so I answer phones (like that) and fill orders in the store. it's actually not bad, for work. everyone who works there is really cool; they're all between 20 and 25, and most of them are musicians or actors or artists or writers of some kind. it's really awesome. There's this guy Matt who's in a band called The Freedom (used to be called Jeremiah Freed) and he's really awesome. we're into a bunch of the same music - Neil Young, Big Star, Dylan, etc etc, but also new stuff like Kings of Leon and the Like, and he's friends with Ray LaMontagne! He's from Maine, and Ray is too, and the guitarist from Matt's band (who also works at Yummy) played on some of Ray's early demos. so that's cool. then there's this guy Asa who's one of the managers and he's really cool too (this post is so boring, I've used "awesome" and "cool" about 16 times each). he's very funny and flirty, so that's fun. haha Um...oh, sometimes we deliver to celebrities, like Macaulay Culkin and Nicole Richie and...other random people I can't remember. then there are the fun crazy people who don't wear pants when they answer the door or proposition the drivers for sex. haha good times.
enough about work. oh, in other big news, we're (my parents and I) moving. my parents have been wanting to move to a smaller house that's more conveniently located, and they found this house in Studio City and made an offer on it (before I could even see it!!) but it's actually pretty cool, and the location is awesome, so I'm OK with it. my room there is way smaller, but I have a huge bathroom and tub, and a walk-in closet (!!!). plus I'm getting rid of all my 10-year-old furniture and getting new stuff from west elm, so my room will actually be how I want it. we've been going through our entire house, trying to get rid of all of our extraneous crap. it's going pretty well, actually, and it'll be soooooooooo nice to have less STUFF in every corner of our house. my room is going to be so uncluttered. especially with the big closet. so I'm pretty excited (can't you tell?).
what else...been going to a bunch of shows at the Hotel. it's so nice knowing people there so I can still get in! haha Jim Bianco's playing a label showcase early tonight, but neither Russ nor Craig are working, so I don't know if I'll be able to go. but Craig might show up just to support Jim, so I might be able to go in with him. Mazzy just won't let me in unless Russ or Craig are there. which is lame. but understandable. Mazzy's weird anyway. but...I'm pretty excited about the Hotel Cafe prom lol. Briel and I have to figure out what dresses we're wearing. I'm going to another show at the Troubadour that night (CocoRosie!) but I'm gonna try and go to the prom after they finish, since it probably won't really get going til late anyway. it should be really, really fun. I've had a couple nice invitations, but Briel is my date, and that is that! haha We'll have a really good time.
Aaaaaand now I have to go. and clean more crap. because there is always more. so. that is all for now, and probably all you get (briel!) for a while. so enjoy it. wasn't it a good time? yeah, I thought so.
