Fredric March, Sylvia Sidney, Merrily We Go to Hell, 1932

Here is another Fredric March still I bought several years ago. Fred starred as Jerry Corbett, an alcoholic newspaper man who meets socialite Joan Prentice. She falls in love with him, they marry, and reality sets in. Here they are at the wedding- he arrived late, was drunk, forgot the ring and so uses a corkscrew.

This movie was based on the book I Jerry, Take Thee, Joan, written by Cleo Lucas in 1931. I was able to find a copy of this book online, and have read it several times. I found it to be a very well written book, and is as in most cases, the book is better than the movie.
