My mum found this photo of her mother recently - she ran away to join the WAAF when she was 17, and this was in a letter she sent home. (Sadly the photo doesn't have a date on it.)

Meanwhile my dad scanned this photo of his mother Hilda (second from left) and her sister Edith (far right) in Skegness in 1930.
